I decided to look this company up under complaints a few months ago and thank god I did! I had a Providian acct. several yrs ago that I defaulted on when I was out of work and in debt to alot of other places at the time. We decided to pay the bills once we got back on our feet by starting with the smaller ones and working our way up. This was the last acct. to be paid. It had been sold to Allied. I explained what we were doing and told them I'd eventually get to them. Every day I'd get another phone call. One day I was at work and received a call from our HR dept. explaining they usually don't put outsiders through to us but the man told them he was from State Farm Ins. I work with the public in a hospital and had a pt. in my office only to have some man verbally abuse me. Since I couldn't say what I really wanted to, I simply told him I did not want calls at work and hung up. He called me right back 2 more times with their threats. I called them that night and got a decent enough person and set up arrangements w/him after telling him I did not ever want to get a call at work again. Per our agreement, I paid them $100/mo and every 6 mos. it would go up another $50. After 18 mos. of paying them automatic payments, I received another call because I had not yet set up the next 6 mos. of check numbers. Oh, and that was right after they had recv'd my last payment so the next one wasn't due for another mo. One day, my boss called me in to ask who would be calling HR to get in touch w/me. She said they would not give my # to the man but he had called the HR secretary twice and was so rude to her. She explained the man was verbally harrassing the girl and had her extrememly upset. I came home and found your site and after reading the comments posted here, I decided to send the sample letter. Well! it worked. I received a letter back from a co. called Resurgent Capital Services saying they had looked into the matter and the acct had been marked as paid in full the mo. I had sent the letter. It has now been noted on my credit report also as paid in full after I disputed it on my report. It did take some time (about 3 mos.) but I will never have to deal with these people again, hopefully!
Send the letter and hope your situation turns out as good as mine seems to have.

These jerks have been calling my 83 year old mother about a bill my son has! What the hell is the matter with these people? She says (the phone message, no person) to push #2 on the phone if this was not where my son was at, she did it on several calls, they call her daily and are REALLY upsetting her.
Who can I call to get them to stop calling her, I hate these jerks.
PLEASE, if ANYONE knows how to contact these jerks, give me the phone number.
Thanks.

Tell them to stop calling... Tell them that is not his residence and that they are upseting your mother and if they do not stop calling you will take legal action against them. :x

QW, I have dealt with allied interstate once, my ex fiance had a acccount placed with them, they called her house while she was at the store (I was there at the time) They asked for her by full name, I responded "she's not here at the moment, however I can take a message and have her get back with you as soon as she returns", he responds; "I don't need to leave a message", I respond (being kinda leary at this point; "well, may I ask who's calling?", then he goes off saying that she is there, and she needs to grow up and get on the phone to resolve this issue. he refuses to give me his name, his company's name, or let me speak to a supervisor. I just told him that since he was being such a @$$ that I guess he wouldn't be speaking to her today. He called back of 38 times that day.

Hindsight being 20/20, those phone calls would have been nice to report the FTC.

In short, the only dealings I've really had with them was on that matter.
