Has anyone had any dealings with this
company. I just received a phone call at
work from them. She said they were calling
about a debt from 1998 with Washington
Mutual Providian and said something about
a law suit. I told her to send a debt
validation letter. I just find it strange
that they would be calling for something
from 1998.

Here is what I found on them, if it's the same on at http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/creditors-information/about21159.html Did they threaten a lawsuit, or has one been filed? This debt is probably out of the SOL period anyway. They appear to be a collection agency, I had one try to collect on a debt that was 13 years old..Karen

Yes,how bizarre,I'm dealing with this company now. They are trying to collect a debt from me from 1985.They will not send me any proof that I owe this money. They are also trying to get me to pay over the phone with a credit card and will not give me there address. They called me again today and said if I can not pay the whole amount, just pay them half.I think this whole thing is a shame,oh and one more thing, they also said if I didn't pay, they were going to garnish my wages. This has all been going on since Aug.13th Thanks,Jeff

first of all they CAN sue u but they can NOT win if u answer the summons! If u choose not to answer it then they can win by default!! But more than likely they will not sue but be prepared for if they do and don't admit to owing this debt or it could restart the SOL!
Good Luck,
Ang

Actually it is misspelled here. "Aero Financial Inc. is a diversified Strategic Advisory and Consulting firm" according to their website.

Arrow Financial, however, is a junk debt buyer. They likely cannot legally enforce collection on it as junk debt is almost always past the SOL. Do not speak with them, send them a Cease & Desist letter and inform them that you will file complaints with the FTC, the FCC, and your state's Attorney General's office if they attempt to contact you again. You should also state on there that you have reason to believe this debt is past SOL and is therefore unenforceable, and if they disagree with that assessment then they are to provide you with complete Validation (NOT verification) of the debt as in accord with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

There is nothing a junk debt buyer hates more than someone that knows the law.

this people are relentless. I keep getting calls for a person I do not know, have never heard of and as far as I know has never lived at the same address. However, they have my phone number, they call at least five times a day, weekends and evenings. I don't know how they got my phone number, I've lived with this phone for six years and as many times as I tell them no such person lives here and ask that my phone number be removed, they continue calling. This has been going on for six years, same time each year. I will contact the police.

I just had dealings with these vultures. They could not find my original debt holder, and they said the account was discharged in "05. They threatened with a lawsuite, and if the account was not paid, they would put a lien on my parents' house. My mother was about to pay it so that she does not have a lien. Apparently they know I had also disputed this back in '04. They are now in Colorado, so they will probably hit up every state. In a matter of days, their payoff increased by $200. What I also think they did, is find my previous address in Illinois and also send the paperwork to the county.

I am very vexed.

You do know it is a violation of the fair debt collection laws for the collection agency to threaten you with legal actions right? They do have to prove he debt is 100% without a doubt yours. Send them a dv letter. Document evrytime they call keep every letter they send keep and document everytime they contact you. (AND I MEAN EVRYTIME AND DOCUMENT TO THE WORD WHAT IS SAID) If you can buy a recorder and record connversation. Record them without you informing them of such and record them with there knowledge. (incase you decide to sue) The fdc laws are pretty strict 90% of collectors violate them every call they make and dont even know it (IMO)

It would only be a violation if they threaten to take an action they do not intend on taking or that they legally could not take ie: Threatening to file suit on a time-barred debt. If they have the legal ability to file suit (w/in SOL) and they sue = no violation.

I received a letter from this "Aero" agency, specifying that I owed a past due amount of: $668.00 from Ashworth University. It also specified in the letter that if I did not pay this before Nov. 7th they were going to garnish my wages. Well, the thing is I Never attended this college!!! Unbelievable! When I call the agency it's a recording and no one ever picks up. When I called the University I spoke with a man, by the name of Ackery. He said this agency has been in business more than twenty years. Then told me to hold for representative in student's services... I held for 7 minutes, when as the minutes ticked by, the recording was stuck and kept repeating you have three minutes left repetitively. Needless to say, no one ever picked up the phone to speak with me on behalf of this. I am going to report them to the better business bureau. Thank You everyone for the insight into this scam.

You may have to change your phone number.

File a complaint with the FCC, the FTC, your state Attorney General, and call your phone company and see if you can get the number blocked.

The senior Vice President Dirk Gothe is a complete crook! He stole millions of dollars when he headed up the Internet Revenue Network. He filled bankruptcy to get out of any debts he might have made while spending every investors money on lavish trips, cars, strip clubs and credit cards. He will say anything if he thinks he can get any money from it. BEWARE!!!!!!

I know a guy that called Lexington Law about his Aero issue. I had an old late payment from Citi Bank and they got it off my credit report report. If you search for them it will show up no problem.
