harassment of youth

im a 20 year old us army soldier and upon my first year of being straight from home to liveing on my own as a fresh soldier ive accumalated over 20,000 dollars of debt from companies and buisnesses that feed on the young and ingnorant youth of america. i really wish some one could have helped me in the beginning because im only 20 and ill probably be4 in my late 30's before i even pay off these expenses. thank you

Welcome to the forums. We have all made mistakes. The important thing is you can dig out and be happy. A debt counselor will be contacting you soon. Listen to their advice they may be able to help you. They deal with debt issues dailey. Best Wishes. Keep us posted. KYSIDE38

Welcome to the Community :D And thank you for your service to our country! Don't be so hard on yourself, we all have done what you have. There is hope for you, and I don't think it will take as long as you think to get out of it. IF we learn from our choices, we are already one step ahead. Have you talked with your creditors and tried to work out a payment plan yet? After the credit counselor contacts you, you will have a better idea of what solutions are available to you.
