My wife and I chose to work with a company called Credit Solutions to help us get out from underneath our debt. We had just had our 2nd daughter and were about to start paying on my wife's student loans. Afer looking at our finances, we realized something had to be done. Two of our accounts have gone through Zwicker. They surely don't waste any time in pursuing legal action. We were both served with summons and are facing court as a result. The kicker is Credit Solutions "can't" help us anymore because the accounts have balance transfers on them. I have no idea why that would make a difference, but it is. I had planned on calling Zwicker to see if they would be wiling to work out a payment plan for us, but after reading this thread I don't know if that would even be advisable. The only other options I have are to go to court and pray the judge finds in our favor and gives us a payment plan we can afford...or...have Credit Solutions set up a payment plan. Only catch with that 2nd option is they require a 20% downpayment, which we don't have, and the amount has to be paid within 3yrs. Credit Solutions really let us down as they should've told us from the get-go about the balance transfers being a problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you explain this more? If you are canceling the agreement with Credit Solutions, you may claim for a refund because of not using their services. Is it mentioned in the contract?

Don't avoid the court date at any cost. Verify your info with the county clerk if there is any case filed by Zwicker. You may be able to explain your problems and work out something with the judge. If you don't show up at the court, the plaintiff will win the case and a default judgment will be put against you.

I don't understand it either. They simply told me that due to having a balance transfer they can't negotiate for a debt settlement.

Oh, I'm planning on getting in touch with the proper court officials to see what I need to do from here on out.

I've had some friend suggest we go with CCCS as they have and have had a good experience with them. They told us CCCS accepted them even with balance transfers.

Check out for the reliable CCCS services in your area. Most of them are non profit organizations. I read a few complaints against some of the CCCS organizations. Make sure that you have researched the company with the BBB and the local attorney general office.

PinkLady has one link that has the companies operating in each area. I will search and post it here and if she reads your post, she will help.
