I just got off the phone with a Stan Morman from Bass and Assoc. He asked me first if I had heard of the company and I said yes I have but I have heard nothing good about you. He said OH...long pause.....

Well have you taken care of this matter? I said what matter? He said you took out a payday loan from Bahama Marketing and it was returned due to non sufficient funds I said yes I am aware of this. Stan went on to say that according to bahmama marketing- I have had this problem in the past. I said NO that I am aware of. He said OH...long pause. I asked what the total was and he said he couldnt tell me that. He went on to tell me that they were in the process of filing a form for internet fraud and so on and so forth. Something about crossing the state line whatever that means. I asked if he could fax over the papers for me to see he said he couldnt do that but I could have my attorney call. I said OK I'll have my attorney call who should he ask for? He said BASS AND ASSOC. I said DUH I know who should he call and ask for he said well anyone in the office. I said you dont have a specific person that is handling this case? He's like ahhhhhhhh long pause well Maam we have 20 people in this office I dont have a clue who's handling your account. I said thats funny but you want me attorney to call your company? He said again Maam I just work the front desk. I went on to say something else he said maam I am not going to go on and on with you about this. Have your attorney call and in the middle of my sentence he hung up on me.....

When he called the number came up 000-000-0000

When I called back after getting the message he gave a number of 1-877-281-2220...

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

He refused to give me anything in writing.....

Now I am stressing again..........

This company is full of crap. Let him spew out the illegal threats all he wants. There are NOT going to be any internet fraud charges brought against you or any other type of charges against you PERIOD. They are consistently violating the laws, file a complaint with Florida's Attorney Generals Office, the complaints are piling up fast against this company in Florida, also file a comlaint with your AGs office. Just know this, every time he calls he is going to throw out an illegal false threat, he may sound scary, but he is just an idiot on the other end of the phone who doesn't know his a$$ from a hole in the ground and if truth be told the only thing he knows about the law is that he is good at breaking it.

Tweety--

Make sure you file that complaint with the Florida AG's office and the FL BBB. I filed my complaints with them and of course, when the BBB contacted Bass, they lied and said that it is only a civil matter and no one at their office uses threats against the debtors that they call. We all know this is a lie. When the FL AG's office contacted me, they stated that Bass is involved in a on-going investigation right now, so make sure you file those complaints.

By all means, Tweety, follow the advice given here. File the complaints mentioned above, and do not, under any circumstances, give this company any bank information or make any payment arrangements with them. Get that complaint filed and keep them away from your bank account, or they'll drain you.

They are not downloading or processing any paperwork - if they were, a good many people on this board would no longer be here. They'd all be in jail, if we believed the threats made by Bass & Associates.

Well right now I am trying to file a complaint with the FL BBB and I'm not getting anywhere. I know that they are in the system because I saw where they had 19 complaints against them. I've also look at the FL AG's office link and I'm not sure where to find the complaint form for that one as well.

I hope I'm not in serious trouble? Stan was very nervous and got REAL defensive fast when I fired back which is a good thing. A week ago I probably would of cried and been all stressed out. Being on this forum helps greatly!

Thanks brownsugar!

What I dont get is how come he said all those things like a paper being processed. I crossed the state line, yada yada- he didnt use the word commit but he said that I did several things that they were getting ready to process. Is that their way of scaring the crap out of people?

Are they associated with Ellis and Crosby?

I can not send a letter telling them to stop contacting me because I dont have a mailing address.....

Tweety--

I filed my complaints back in November, or the beginning of Dec. Once I filed them online, it took about three weeks to get the response in the mail with a form to fill out and mail back to them.

Bass always uses the word "process." Don't let these people scare you with these threats. They have many scare tactics, such as, check fraud, fraudulent activity in your bank account, bank fraud, passing bad checks, and the list just goes on. Alot of members here believe that they are associated with Ellis Crosby.
Here is the address for Bass & Associates. I don't know if it is an actual address b/c the BBB's website said the address is to a UPS store.
Bass & Associates
9378 Arlington Expressway, Ste. 323
Jacksonville, FL 32225

Tweety - that is DEFINITELY their way of scaring you. They will threaten you with arrest, jail, etc...and when that doesn't work, they'll try guilt. Don't you want to pay your bills, don't you want to be an honest person and do the right thing...blah blah blah. It's truly funny when you think about the company that is saying this - crooks trying to convince the average joe to be "honest".

Thanks to SUEBEE, TASHA, TEX AND STEELERS1 for you advice. I have a slow connection at home but I will be filing those complaints Wed morning. I only filed 1 other complaint and that was last spring from Jacoby and Meyers. Maybe these @ssholes! are the same as Ellis and Crosby?. The reason I asked when you filed the complaints is because it was an ongoing investigation on Bass and Assoc. Just wonder what happens if enough people complain about them. I'll tell you all that I am more calm now then before. Once the complaint is filed and the BBB cant get a response from the company then what happens?

Can someone tell me if Bass and Assoc is located in Jacksonville FL? I am filing my complaint against them right now and its asking for a county....

Wonder if they are going to be "downloaded" to their county? :) So far all the collection agencies have used that famous word to me "downloaded"

This sounds like the clown that called me from Allen Lewis & Associates at the end of December. I had filed complaints against mycashnow (again) and he calls me a couple of weeks later. I had never heard from a CA collecting from them before this. They are also located out of Jacksonville. They also have a bad rating with the BBB. I filed my complaints with the FTC as well as the AG's office in my state. I need to follow up with Florida as well. I heard the same type of illegal threats. I heard a new one besides internet fraud and then was interstate banking fraud LOL!
