has anyone had to deal with them? I had a loan and it went into collections due to my bank account being changed bc of fraud... With it being over the holidays I changed all my loans but this one got lost in the shuffle.. I KNOW I KNOW no execuse.
I want to rectify this but of course its the worse time financially for me.. They called demanding to speak to my lawyer and called other friends of mine to. I am willing to pay I just dont know what kind of settlement and what I can pay.
Any Advise?

I have dealt with them before. I made the mistake of taking out a payday loan years ago and paid what I took out. They claimed I owed interest, very high at that and they tried taking out money from my checking account running up huge overdraft fees so I closed my account. Allen lewis called me about 3 years ago threatning criminal action and I told them I was not going to pay. They also called my parents and wife telling them I owed a debt and that I was in trouble, which is illegal for them to do. Also threatening criminal action is illegal for them since the matter is civil and not criminal. They have pretty much stopped calling me since I ignore them.

I would recommend the same thing for you, ignore them and don't asnwer the phone when they call if you have caller ID. If you do talk to them ask for a validiation letter and send them a cease and desist letter which you can find copies of on the internet. I would recommend not paying them any money though, if you want to pay the debt then go through the original creditor. Do not let allen lewis intimidate you though.

They contacted me in late December at work regarding mycashnow. This was after I filed complaints against mycashnow. I spoke to an Oliver Winslow who was a real treat. I would suggest sending them a debt validation request per the fdcpa laws. You can find a copy of the letter in the DIY section of the forum. Send it certified mail with return receipt so you have proof that they received your letter.

Allen, Lewis & Associates
1185 Lane Ave
Suite 5
Jacksonville, FL 32205

This is the address that is listed on their website. I was threatened with all kinds of illegal charges as well. File complaints with the FTC, Better Business Bureau, The Florida Attorney General, as well as the AG's office in your state. You can do this all online. They need to be shut down.
