Hi Neena,
Welcome to debtconsolidationcare forums.
debt consolidation clears all the negative marks of your credit report as the debts you owe are paid off gradually in monthly installments. Your credit score starts improving. So there will be no problem in using credit cards.
But be careful at this stage, as your first choice should be to improve your credit score. If you look for a new credit account, the creditor will wish to check your credit history. Though opting a debt consolidation program will not be treated as a discredit, however, new loans can be obstacles in your goal of becoming debt free.
So it's better not to go for a new loan or use your credit card frequently till your debts are erased from your credit report.
Hope you will find this information useful.
Feel free to ask any queries if you have.
Regards,
Bryan
