Hmmm - do I see a pattern here? Three years ago - I called Ameridebt to become a client. They told me they were no longer accepting new clients, and referred me to Nexum. I signed on with Nexum, which became defunct about a year or so later and was turned over to Credicure, which then evolved into R. A. Brennan. I was having $555.00 a month withdrawn from my checking account each month, all bills were getting paid on time, and I had paid down my balances by over $10,000.00 in a little over two years, until RAB took over. In February of '06, I started getting hit with late fees and "nasty grams" from ALL of my creditors - and my balances were going back up because of the accounts not being paid. By June, I FINALLY got ahold of someone at RAB who stated that they could do debt settlement for me. Well, after having $183.00 a month withdrawn through December of '06. I decided to file bankruptcy. Well, wonder of wonders, I'm not getting any of my money back - I was cited all of these "retainers" and "fees" as reasons to not get any money back from RAB. What a bunch of crap. I just turned over most of my tax return to a bankruptcy attorney in my area, and was told that I should have just filed bankruptcy to begin with, instead of having my money stolen by so-called "credit counselors".
