well..it started about 2 summers ago whie working for a friend of the family and never being paid for the work i tried to pursue legal matters on it. meanwhile my roommates moved out leaving me with rent and utilities totalling over 1000 per month. not being paid for my work, i lived off of my credit card and soon exceeded my credit limit. forcing me to drop out of school and student loans payments came due. last summer i tried paying off my credit card bill but apr and fees prevented such things. my credit card wouldnot bring any of the fees of percentages down so i refused to pay, now the bill has been sent to collects and seek a consolidation loan for about 30,000 to sum up my student loans as well as this collection.

Do you have a job to make the monthly payments? Explain your situation to the counselor so that he can talk with your creditors and tell them about your using the program. He will arrange a lower interest rate and waive off late fees from your total debt. This will make the repayment affordable for you.

Regular source of income is very important at this stage so that you don't pile up additional debts. You have to stress on an income higher than your overall expenses.

yes i have steady income and live a modest life style and with 7 different payments to just the debt i need consolidated its hard to afford it all. not only that when summer comes around again ill be making a good wage. I understand finances; i was an accounting student before this fiasco.
