This is awful!! In the 11 years I've lived up north I have never seen this kind of snow or been this cold..We've got blizzard conditions, the roads are a mess, it's 8 degrees, and I'm freakin' stuck in the house!!

We have an avalanche in the driveway..I should try and clean it up so my husband can pull into the driveway when he gets home, but I can't shovel very well, I don't know how to run the snowblower, and it's too friggin' cold. I can't go running, and the treadmill isn't cutting it for me..I need to move!!!
I can't even watch NFL network, because the satelite reception is going in and out, I'm about to go up on the roof and clean the damn thing off!!

So am I just an overly dramatic southerner, or is the weather really this bad? How's the weather for you guys?

I have never been this cold! Yesterday I had to pick my daughter up at work and I could not find a hat to put on so I have a bright green hoody my down coat is red I had on sun glasses and if the cops had stopped my they would have thought I was the uni bomber! My daughter took one lood at me and laughed so hard that she wet her pants! But at least I was warm!

We had about four inches yesterday and it's pretty cold. I don't know how the roads are though. I have to venture out later. Sue, be careful when defrosting your pipes. This happened in my mom's house when we were growing up. We got bottled water, heated it up on the stove, and dumped some in the bathtub. That is how we bathed for a couple of days. Our furnace is in our basement here which is a big help in keeping the pipes unfrozen. Tammy, I will gladly send you this snow.

A prayer:

To the person that permanently borrowed my shovels - I hope they work well for you. I hope God keeps your back free of pain when you shovel. May the Lord protect you and keep you warm, and keep people from slipping on your sidewalk.

In the future, feel free to ask me for my shovels instead of just stealing them. If you needed them that bad, I would have given them to you. They are just shovels.

LMAO!! I'm doggone proud of myself for starting this thread in the first place, may it go down in DebtCC history. My personal goal is to make it longer than the miracle management thread..

It helps me a lot to see you guys are right there with me..

I cried because I have no shoes, then I met a man with no feet

Well, all I have to say is, that's what you get for moving up there with all them yankees. But then again, most of them yankees are down here in the south, where it's not to warm to us, but when it hits 16 degrees with wind chill of 5-10 degrees below. Keep all that snow, it's missed us 2 times, and I guess the 3rd time will be a charm. Oh well, nothing you can do about it, so why complain about it.

Wow..I didn't move up here by choice. Circumstances made me. I never moved back because I met my husband and made my life here.

Sorry if you take offense to my "complaining". I think venting would be a better word for it..That's what the Pub is here for, I can lay my thoughts on my forum friends for fun and see what they think. Also, I may be a Reb, but some of my closest friends now are Yanks, and I will never think anything derogatory about them...After all, the war ended a long time ago, and we DID lose it.

welcome to the forums.

Thanks Steelers!!

You know, when I first moved here I had a pretty heavy accent and people teased me about it..That was ok, though, because I am the minority here. After 11 years I have pretty much lost it, except for when I get all tangled up irritated, then it creeps back in. Other than that, though, all them Yankees have been pretty nice to me!

well, since I'm drinking a Mike's hard lemonade right now it's a doggone good thing I'm in the Pub!!

Forgive me, but I have more complaining to do! It's flippin' snowing again! Heavy crap, too! I thought it was supposed to be gone. I think this nasty snow is my own private hell...

Have another drink, fins.

Don't worry Fins - I don't drink - I just drive - so have one more and watch the snow. I will navigate. I am so sick of this weather!! And did anyone else hear about the time changing on March 11 this year? They want to see what happens if they change it a month earlier! Is that the stupidest thing you have ever heard! We will still have at least six weeks of crappy weather - there is always a blizzard right around St. Patrick's day.

I heard about Daylight Savings Time moving up too...they kept it pretty quiet until now. It's confusing enough when the clocks are changed - now we have to remember that it's earlier in the year! Something about energy savings, etc.

I'm FINALLY taking the kids sledding this weekend! It's finally something above 0 where I feel safer taking them out. It's 11 here today, supposed to head up to 20 - HEAT WAVE!

And, I got a new van! It's not fancy, or especially pretty, but it's solid, reliable, and heavy as heck - look out, here I come!

Here's what changing the time a month early is going to do for me....

It's going to pi$$ me off one month early that I have to remember to set my clock forward 1 hour and lose that hour of sleep...lol

And I'm going to whine about the cold weather until the temp is at least 75 degrees outside. And in the middle of July when it's in the 80's to 90's, I'm STILL going to complain about it....It's what I DO.

Fins, I am a southerner also LOL but I love ya anyways. You can complain if you want to. I have. Its a heat wave here today 28 degrees. School was cancelled three days and delayed 2 last week. I have about froze. 5 below every night. I have had pneumonia and had to move in that crap to boot. So we can complain to our hearts content. LOL KYSIDE38

Jessi - I'm with you on that! When the temp starts to rise to 90 or so and the humidity is hot and sticky I will be complaining too! But that is what I do also! I guess there is no pleasing me! The only good thing about the time change is that the clock in my van will be right! I never change it (I don't know how) it makes the kids crazy! And I aim to please! They never really know what the exact time is.

Steelers, I hear you. I love a good argument.

My philosophy is to treat people like they treat me...Even Steven. I can be the warmest, most giving person in the world to my friends who treat ME like a friend, or I can be sarcastic and mean in defense when I'm attacked. I rarely, if ever, offensively attack someone, it's usually a rebuttal for me.
