This is awful!! In the 11 years I've lived up north I have never seen this kind of snow or been this cold..We've got blizzard conditions, the roads are a mess, it's 8 degrees, and I'm freakin' stuck in the house!!

We have an avalanche in the driveway..I should try and clean it up so my husband can pull into the driveway when he gets home, but I can't shovel very well, I don't know how to run the snowblower, and it's too friggin' cold. I can't go running, and the treadmill isn't cutting it for me..I need to move!!!
I can't even watch NFL network, because the satelite reception is going in and out, I'm about to go up on the roof and clean the damn thing off!!

So am I just an overly dramatic southerner, or is the weather really this bad? How's the weather for you guys?

OH PLEASE - SAY IT AIN'T SO! I will never get the hot water back on in the shower! We have been going over to my oldest daughters house in shifts to take showers and I feel like I should start leaving money o the toilet seat for the use of the water. It will be summer before I get the water back! The only saving grace is that many of my neighbors have the same problem.!!@@##$$

I'm with you Finsfan, I like a man who is independent in his thoughts and is able to express them. I think it is funny that whenever somebody comes on here and they say what they think and it doesn't go along with "the others" then they decide the person isn't "appropriate" for the forum. Geez, freedom of expression is ok. Being different is OK.

Shemar - no problem at all - please stick around and post more! We try to stick up for each other, but if someone is not being threatening or obscene towards a member, there's not a lot we can do, except ignore them. But Chuckles really is just posting his opinion of another member's posts, and texas doesn't seem to be offended by them so far - he's fired back at them in his own way. It'll all balance out.

I am going to start throwing things at the tv when the weatherman comes on!! They are talking about a foot of snow by tomorrow @@##$%$%!! I just got the water running in the shower! At least I have food in the house so if the kids have off they can eat. Spring will not come soon enough for me! They are saying that this storm is like the one that hit on Christmas of 04 - I got frozen in the house for that one - both of my doors were frozen to the house and I had to get my daughter to ice pick the back door open! What a nightmare!

Ok this snow is HORSESH#&!!!!!

So we had like 6 inches on the ground this morning, which I had to knock off my car...Then had to drive to work....It took me an hour to get the 15 miles to my job..Then while I was there, I got covered in another 3 inches and a nice layer of ice. Then of course I was stuck and had to dig myself out of the parking lot...Then a nice hour and 15 minute drive home. I can get to DAYTON from Columbus in that mount of time....GAHHH!

You can't even see the roads. And the plows are doing a real stupid job...It's nasty!

Yes, it is nasty, nasty here Jessi. I had 7 inches this morning and I have had to drive around in this crap all day, and NOT allowed to go home! Now I think there is a good 1.5-2 inches of ice covering the sidewalks and road here. It is going to get worse, by morning another 5 inches of snow on top of the ice and the previous snow fall.

Oh you guys..I'm so sorry, I know what you're going through..Things are calm and nice right now, but tomorrow we're supposed to get hit again..Probably with the $hit you guys got..

And then..Listen to this..Yesterday I'm on my way to work, and all of a sudden my car veers off to the side of the road. I broke a tie rod! I was hot, my car is a 2005, has a 100,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, so you'd think that would be covered, right? WRONG!! The a$$holes at the car place were POSITIVE I drove it into a ditch, and that's why it broke. Whatever. Oh well..It was only $140 to fix..I'm still pissed, though.

Fins, they didn't believe what you said??? That's so totally WRONG. I've come to believe that those warranties are not even worth the paper they're written on. I bought one for my used vehicle that I purchased several years ago - the 3rd day after I bought it, the oil sending sensor went out - electrical component, right? Covered in the warranty. Nope. They said it wasn't an "electrical component".

Cost me $395 to fix.

We have the blowing winds now with the eight inches we've received today. We are in blizzard warning and under a Level 3 Snow Emergency. Only emergency personnel should be on the roads. My hubby already called his boss saying he won't be in tomorrow. We can't even see my mother-in-laws house which is less than a half a mile from us. It's like a white cloud outside, well before it got dark.

Cajun,

Are you in the line of the tornadoes? Fin, I understand your frustration because it's the principle of the thing. A few years ago the head gaskets went out on my Outback, the car was only three years old and barely out of warranty. It cost me a couple of grand to fix and then two weeks later found out it was a recall. It took over six weeks to get my money back.

Mishele..

OOOOOH, That would make me so mad! You would think that they would have it in the computer that it's a recall..

My car is a 2005 PT Cruiser. They told me at the shop that Cruisers are infamous for breaking tie rods because of the enormous wheel wells. I don't know if I believe that or not, since I have been in love with these cars since they first came out in 2001, and I think I've researched it pretty well. It was probably this butthole's way of telling me to get ready to break another one.

My cousin has a PT Cruiser, I know it's a few years older than yours but they had problems with the tire rods in December. I know it was pretty expensive to fix. I think mechanics think women are just stupid in general. LOL Six weeks was a rush to get my money back after all the crabbing that I did. Hey, when you need the money, you need the money. I was working two jobs then too.

I was lucky it was just one of mine..It could get pretty pricey, because just one and an alignment was $140.I guess I have to consider myself lucky.

I think these car guys do think we're stupid...When I was looking at cars before I bought mine, I was looking at used..I found a 2001 Saturn that would've been perfect for me. It had no sticker. I asked the price, and they said $14,000. I thought that was a bit steep, this was in '05. I went home and forgot about it..A few days later I saw THAT car in a flyer for THAT dealership...for $9,000. Nice try, jerk.

It really sucks bad, on top of the snow you can add about 3 inches of ice, another 5 inches by tomorrow morning and throw in those 30 mile an hour winds. They aren't calling for blizzard conditions in my area, I don't think the snow is going to be blowing anywhere with the ice that has fallen over top of it. The ice has stopped and it has started snowing AGAIN and isn't going to let up for quite a few hours. :(

yuck Steelers, that sounds awful! The snow has started falling pretty hard here, and I think we've gained about an inch of the white stuff, but nothing like what's south of us. The wind is the biggest problem here. Winds are supposed to be bad tomorrow too, darn it. I love my big new van, but the wind makes it hard to drive.

I'm just glad I have my car back..It's not exactly the best thing in the world in the snow, but I had to drive our third vehicle this morning and yesterday..It's a big HUGE GMC truck, rear-wheel drive. I have never driven rear-wheel drive in the snow..I fishtailed all the way to work this morning. It was kinda fun, though.

Yuuuuck Tammy! Tell your mom I said sorry for the bad weather! She can join my grumpy club. I've been in a BAD mood all day...lol

And what's worse, is our aluminum siding magnifies the sound of the freezing rain hitting our house. it's like nails on a chalkboard to me I can't stand it!
