I have about 5 cards - one is current the others are 1 to 2 1/2 months past ... all total 19,500 .. something like that. Can I get help here? If so, what kind of help, and what kind of fees?

Two options that the debt counselor will most likely discuss would be enrolling in a debt consolidation/credit counseling program or a debt settlement program.

The counselor will help you determine which of these two options would be the best for you. The fees can vary. Fees for debt conslidation are usually much less than those for debt settlement.

I would highly recommend checking out the BBB's website to research any potential company that you are considering using to help you with your debts. There are good and bad, as with most companies.
