Well.. As some may remember I had a few loans out with a storefront that was so outside the Law I was shocked when I read the law.. So I stopped paying and they never came after me.. I did file with the AG and DOC.. and guess what I was right Not licenced in the state of CA.. and the DOC is conducting a Investagation.. But they do not have give you any help to get refunds.. and any fines that they might get do not go back to the consumer.. so I guess the state gets richer and I learned a lesson..


Make sure that investigation dept. gets you a paid in full letter from the storefront lender, in case you have already paid off the principal amount. Your account must be marked closed by them.

The investigations will provide you the desired results at this time, but if you don't have a PIF letter from the lender, they will sell the balance to some CA and they will try to collect on the same account.
