I have several and I'm not proud of being in this mess. Seems like all I do on fridays is extend to pay the others off.

If I can get out then I will have funds to take care of some dings on my credit report.

Does anyone know of any debt consolidation companies that can help me with these?

My other idea is to let the checks bounce then try to arrange payment plans. Meanwhile, opening another checking account at the credit union and transferring my direct deposit.

They are not internet loans.

Kristi--

I've dealt with Advance America, but I finally paid them in full. They allowed my to make payment arrangements that I could stick with. Now Checksmart is a different story. These people are a trip. I have all of the money to pay them, but one of the collectors from their corporate office really pissed me off. I'm friends with a girl that works at the Checksmart store and she did tell me that even though the corporate office will not do payment arrangements, she will accept three equal payments to pay it off. The collector got on my last nerve, so I took one of the payments to the store and the girl told me that since they accepted my payment, it will be harder for the corporate office to take me to court to get a judgement against me b/c the judge will see that I'm making an effort to pay them off. The collectors at the corporate office work on commission so that is why he was bugging me.

What state are you in?

The storefronts that I have dealt with after my checks bounced, let me work out a payment plan. I had told them in advance, before the check even bounced, that it was gonna bounce. Just be upfront and honest with these storefronts, and maybe they will let you make payments. Just don't commit to a payment plan that you know you can't stick with b/c storefronts will take you to court and get a judgement against you.

I'm in OH, and the Checksmart here is something else. I'm not gonna comment on the one in your state b/c I don't know anything about them.

Kristi, you will find a wealth of information in this community and a lot of people who will point you in the right direction.

Don't be embarrassed about the number of loans. We've all been there. At one point I had a total of 9 storefront and internet combined. As for paying them off, definitely be proactive and contact them and let them know that you need to make payment arrangements. Storefronts are a lot easier to deal with than internet PDLs. But definitely make sure the plan is something realistic that you know you can handle. Stick to the plan until they are paid off. As long as you stick to the plan, they can't do anything to you.

I am dealing with advance right now. The 2 stores, yes I said 2 stores both hubby and I had one out totaling $2,000. I did inform them that they were going to get the checks back and when they do to call me. Then I told them that I could only pay each $40 every friday. Well since then I got laid off and told them that the payments would have to go down to $25 a week and they didn't mind. As long as I show up every friday or sat. they are happy. I am proud to tell you that I have one down to under $300 and the other is almost at $300.I wish you the best with the others you have.
