I had to close my bank account due to some check fraud happening. I called some of PDL companies i have loans through to tell them and they basically said too bad. Now i have defualted on the loans and they're calling saying something about putting me on a tele-track ? and contacting mayroll to garnish my wages? i can't pay them off right now. WHat can they do really to collect these? and what can i do? i live in minnesota. They call all day everyday, my cell phone and my work... i can't have this happening. what should i do.

How many pdls are you dealing with, who are the companies, and are these internet or storefront loans? Chances are someone on here has dealt with the lenders your loans are with, and can offer advice on how to handle them.

Are you aware of Minnesota's payday loan laws? If not, this is important info. to know, as it will help you deal more effectively with the pdls. If you need the payday loan laws for Minnesota, someone can post them for you.

Also, it would be beneficial to send voluntary wage assignment revocation letters to all of your payday lenders if they are internet-based. Also, send a copy of these letters to your payroll dept., so they will not honor any wage garnishment requests that a payday lender might send. Most true wage garnishments must be done through the courts, but payday lenders will send a garnishment packet to payroll depts., and try to get your outstanding loan withheld from your pay. Unfortunately, some payroll depts. do not realize that they shouldn't be honoring this and actually process the request and start making the withholdings from an employee's wages.

If you need any template letters or help composing a letter, don't hesitate to ask. Everyone on here is extremely helpful.
