As of today, the debt which has been piling up is soon to bury my family. Transitioning out of the U. S. Army was a huge step. Employers do not credit the experience and training received, this results in an income which is not sufficient to cover expenses. In July our daughter was born. Medical, credit, unsecured loans, and store credit have been taking over with the interest and finance charges. Recently I have gathered all the information needed to budget a plan. The only part I do not know is how to negotiate effectively with the companies. Today my currently monthly expense total $3493, the income that comes in to the house is $3272. I have done research and planning and can afford to pay a reasonable amount. Several attempts have been made to plead my case to credit unions and banks in order to grant a debt consolidation loan. Although my history and score alone are not strong enough to earn their trust. My last resort is to turn to a cosigner however I rather involve as few people as possible.

The overall goal is to clear out the debt, bring our name back to credibility and be able to find a place to live in our name not someone elses.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

While you wait for the consultant's call, go through this website and read others experiences in debts. You need to keep your income more than expenses. The debt to income ratio will go higher if it stays as it's at the present moment. Do some more budgeting for minimize your current expenses.

Credit history is not considered while enrolling in the consolidation program. You just have to make regular payments to the consolidation company and they will post payments to the creditors in the plan. You get some benefits like lower interest rates, late payment fees waived off that brings down the total balance and helps you in achieving a debt free life.
