I opened my email and saw that my spam folder had emails from other payday loan companies offereing thousands in an hour ~ I just smiled and deleted them.

Hey ~ I get those all the time too!!! In fact last night I had over 100 emails in my "Junk" file and guess what? 99% of them were form payday loans and consolidation, etc. I just delete them also!!!

Never click on the link by mistake also. They will track your IP and start harassing you with their crappy marketing calls. Some people unknowingly put their personal info and hence, their problems start. Mark such emails as spam in your bulk folder.

I've done that a few times, and now I know why I've started to get all those crazy emails. I probably have about 10 in my junk mail box everyday and I'm constantly deleting them and opting out...or unsubscribing. A few slip through and make it into my inbox every now and then. I remember when I first got into the PDL trap, I was doing all kinds of searches trying to find those things..and now they are popping up everywhere.

Same here, kyside. I know sometimes it's tempting to take one out when things get tough, but any time I see an ad for them, an e-mail from them, or a card in the mail saying "we have money for you!"...I remember how much trouble I had with them, and how much potential trouble there could have been for me, had I not found this site and gotten out of that trap.

    I get those al the time and I have never had a loan! I also get those subprime card emails and my lowest fico is 760 for petes sake. I think I get them because I post on this consumer board and a few others. Hell I don't even sniff at a credit card unless it is a very low fixed rate.

Those emails are annoying. The first thing I usually do everyday is delete about 20 of them that show up in my inbasket overnight! I think the funniest ad is from Christian Financial--imagine using Jesus to rip you off...
