I just got information on my report that there is negative information from Palisades. I too, like everyone else on this forum, and shocked and have no idea what this debt is. I am going to send a certified letter to them requesting a debt validation. What exactly is this though, and how does it help me? And what is the best course of action for me to take in terms of debating this debt?
The debt validation letter is basically requesting that Palisade
The debt validation letter is basically requesting that Palisades prove the debt is yours and that you legally owe it.
If they do not provide this documentation to you within thirty days of receipt of your request, dispute the entry on your credit report with the credit bureaus and request that it be removed. They will then research the debt and remove it if Palisades does not comply.
