I am writing this letter to inform you that we will not accept any settlements or make any payment arrangements until we have all the documentation that you have proving that we owe this debt. YOu must not take any further collection activity unless or until you give us this documentation that we require. WE really just need a validation of the debt and then we can continue with making arrangements in order to pay it. Can you try also to give us an itemized bill of all charges that we have made in case we need to dispute any of them. Thankyou.

Sent it business letter head thru fax and will send through mail also...
They fed ex a settlement deal for the 19th stating that if we pay the lump sum of 5431.30 that we can be done with this matter. Again we dont have that amount so we have to decline but hopefully the letter i send them will buy us time to work something out. Do you think sending the letter will further anger them and that they will be more agressive towards us? WE really just want to go on a payment plan of 100 to 150 a month for however long to pay this off...Do you think we will ever be able to reach that deal? I appreciate all your help with this matter thankyou so much...

Why are you thinking about this settlement deal when you are not confirmed about the debt they say you owe? It might happen that they will take your money and not post it towards your account just because they never had it.

collection agencies have to validate the debt received from the original creditor. Even if this is a creditor, they have to send an itemized statement mentioning the total charges and interest calculations. Get the documentation first so that you are able to file a dispute on a possible error they come up with. You have the legal rights to refuse payments until you are confirmed about the legitimate business.
