I have some serious negative marks on my CR due to following behind on credit card payments b/c of ipdls. My question is, I have two student loans, and I've be making my payments on time. Even though I have the negative marks, will my student loan payments help me out any as far as my credit score?

While accounts with positive reporting are going to boost up your scores, negatives are going to hurt at the same time. The ratio between the two remarks will ultimately calculate your scores.

Defaulted student loans that show up on your credit report may stop any bank or other lending institution from extending a loan to you. So, in case you want to keep your scores going up, don't default in any of the payments.
