You can say that again! It seems like hardly anyone is areound. Has Texas been around? I haven't seen any of his alerts lately.

Well, I am 22 yrs old and I don't know many ppl my age that are home on a Sat. night, how about you guys?? It is snowing here and I just don't feel like paying for a new car when I wreck. I don't like driving in the snow and I get scared when it is just flurries. Some of my friends were going to Hickory shopping this PM and asked me to go. I just chickened out b/c I knew it was gonna snow. :lol:

I am having one of those weekends were I feel like I am eating myself into oblivion! I just can't stop eating! I am trying to quit smoking and the doc gave me a script for the new pills - Chantix - (BOY ARE THEY EXPENSIVE)I half of it filled and I was actually doing pretty well until the blizzard. I had to have a smoke or six during my 2 hour drive home in that God awful snow!

Mr. Texas has gone to detective school to brush up on his under cover skills. (Which was greatly needed) This place has been dead since they banned guests from posting. I noticed there were over 80 people on the forums earlier and less than ten were able to post.

Is that Chantix the drug which was developed for another medical condition and they discovered it was helpful with smoking cessation and weight loss? They were supposed to approve it last summer.

How does it work for weight loss? Just curious. I've tried one of the other meds for weight loss, but they're a temporary thing - you can't take them forever. I just wondered how this one in particular works.

One lady that I work with was on Chantix and she stopped smoking for three weeks and then started up again. Another lady had to quit taking it b/c it messed her stomach up. She has acid reflux and some other health issues, and I guess the drug just didn't agree with her.

I didn't know it was for weight loss also. I do know that I really don't crave the cigs and when I do have one I can't smoke the whole thing - they just don't taste right. My doc and I waited for six months for this drug to be on the market before getting the script, she felt this was the best and safest method for me. The only problem is that my insurance would rather pay to treat lung cancer thatn pay for the prescription!

They are temporary, you should learn to change your eating habits and lifestyle, using the pills should help with the changing of the life style. Topomax which is a seizure med and also used for migraines is helpful with weight loss.

I'm taking topomax right now to suppress my migraines, and I will say, it does curb my appetite. It's also very expensive. The price for it out-of-pocket is like $165 for a 30-day supply.

I've gone the route of changing the eating habits and lifestyle now...the med was something I tried briefly last year. I just wondered how this one worked.

irish - it's a shame your insurance won't cover that medicine for you. Hopefully they'll change their policy soon.

My son takes it for seizures. I think it depends on the mg of the tablet and how many tabs you take a day. His script without insurance is over $800 for a 30 day supply. He is on a very high dose though.

My doc was gonna prescribe me Topamax for my migraines b/c I have them at least 2 or 3 times a week.

I only take 100mg a day.

They way that I figure it is that since I am getting my finances together I may as well get the rest of my life in order and smoking ins getting old and EXPENSIVE! I am tired of supporting all kinds of stadiums and now the arts and not being able to smoke where I want to and I always said that when they reached 5.00 a pack that was it!

My son takes 500 mg a day. 250 mg in the morning and at night.

I'm at home tonight too....It's too freaking cold to go outside. And slippery out too. YUCK!

Plus to go out it would require me to get out of my pajamas, and I don't want to. My monkey pants are AWESOME! LOL

I was getting migraines quite often, but since I've been on the Topomax, I only get about one migraine a month.

:roll: I am sitting here watching it snow ( :evil: )AGAIN! And watching fools try and get down my side street - that wasn't plowed well and sliding all over the place! I live on a corner and for 30 years I have held my breath for fear of some one sliding into my house! I know tha the way some of these people drive one of these days I will be on the news with a car into my house.

I know you live in OH, so did you see on your news station, that Fed-Ex semi that slide out of control in Cincinnati and hit two cars, one being a police cruiser.

Yes I did! I literally jumped out of the chair watching that and no one was killed! I guess that the cop was quite a hero - he was assisting some girl saw the truch and pulled the girl off the side of the road! AMAZING! :shock:

I think they also had said that the camera in the cruiser was able to record everything b/c it was already involved in an accident previously before the semi hit it and when the first car had hit the cruiser, it caused it to spin around and that's how the camera ended up catching everything.

Well guys its snowing like snowballs falling from the sky here. However a warmup is predicted for next week. 55 by Thursday. I am going to break out my shorts. LOL KYSIDE38

I had one of those stalkers last year. PM me and I will tell you the story. I thought I had another one last week. It gets old but it goes with the territory. irish, good luck with quitting smoking. I quit in 99 for three years. I started up when I was going through my divorce and I haven't stopped since. I've tried on more than one occassion but I guess I'm just not ready yet. Of course you can't smoke in public anymore. I try to be conscience of that. I even smoke outside of my own house when we have company over. Hubby and I stayed in last night too. We had a nice dinner and watched a movie :-) I might brave going outside today to go to the mall. My stepdaughter's birthday is coming up on Wednesday and she is coming home from school on Friday. I thought hubby and I could make a day of it :-)
