Can someone please give me advice on how to get a background credit report fixed that has inaccurate information on it about my credit? I am seeking employment and there are some entries that are not correct regarding my credit on a report that is produced by HireRight, employment screening. This has prevented me from employment already and I am struggling to get this fixed. Have already contacted the bureaus to do updates, however, not yet fixed on my report and the information the background people are getting is not accurate. Please help....

Once an item is disputed with the credit bureaus, they verify it with the data furnishers and check for the accuracy. It usually takes 30-45 days for the bureaus to deliver the updated copy at your mailing address.

When did you dispute the item? If it's taking too long to fix, send a follow up letter to the bureau and mention about the dispute. They need to give the results of the investigations if they think the information already shown in your credit copy is not disputed.

They informed me that they pull the credit bureaus, but if that is so then why is old information still appearing on my hireright report?
