I had sent them a certified letter saying I wanted verification of the debt and then I gtt a letter from them over the weekend saying I agreed to pay the debt by 2/28. I wanted to send them a fax today as well as another letter via certified mail. Has this happend to anyone before? If so, what did you say in the letter saying that you didn't agree to pay?
I should also say, I have never spoken to them just responded to
I should also say, I have never spoken to them just responded to a letter. That they sent to my parents address where I have not lived for 17 years. They also told my dad that I had a debt owed to them and the amount.

If I were you, I will send a follow up letter mentioning that the information requested by you in the previous letter has not been given till date. You are not legally bound to pay anything unless you have the full details about the debt. Recite the laws mentioned in the FDCPA. You have the legal rights to get the debt validated by the collection company. Send this letter CMRRR and put the burden on them.
