What is the best way to get a "pay for delete"?

where can I find a pfd letter? Is there any samples that I can use. How do I find out if a collection agency will do this? If the collection agency will do it, what about the original creditor, does that stay on my credit report. Wouldn't want one to stay on if the other is willing to delete.

I have a sticky at the top of this board for pay for delete. On original creditors you would reword it asking them to do this as a goodwill gesture and letter would be called a goodwill letter.Remember, they are not required to do this. You will need good communications skills to do this or you will need violations to use as leverage. Before you ask violations refer to fdcpa
and fcra
