Ok I had fun on Sat. morning. I had someone from united pay services call me at 7:30 in the morning. Thank god I had my phone on silence. When I figured out that someone called at that time I was pretty ticked off so I called them back and told them to take my number off their list and any further contact needs to be done in writing because someone called me at 7:30 a.m and that is illegal then they hung up on me. Well that didn't sit very well with me so I called them back again. When someone answered I told them that , that was rude then I told him what happened and he went into his speech and I told him hey you have my info send me a dv and make sure it has your addy on it so I can send payment by money order or cashiers check he said well we don't accept payment that way then I told him that I don't make payments the way you want so it is either my way or no way. Then I told him that I have it on record of all the violations they have done along with the 2 times that someone from there called me before 8:00 a.m. and that my work has their calls recorded. They called my work 5 times a day until the HR director told them to stop and that all their calls were recorded lol. So then at the end of the conversation I interupted him telling him that this conversation is done and that to send me th dv with an addy so I can send payment (which I won't) and that's all I have to say and told him thank you and good bye and hung up while he was talking lol. My kids said mom that was mean and started laughing. I feel so bad now because I haven't had any calls from them today lmao. I thought my phone was shut off lol. Oh and since I told them off I haven't had any calls from pre ligitations hmmmmm...wonder if they are connected? I pitty the next united pay service person that calls me. OH and by the way the second time I called them on sat. I called I asked what company am I calling? He said united processing. I told him I thought you called yourself united pay services then he got quiet. lol
Just thought I would let you know that I finally stood up to these illegal people. lol I also informed them of all the complaints I had made and that they were being investigated he said hmmmmm and got quiet lol. boy what a change from the first call I got from them back in december.

Has anybody had this experience with these people. When they called me at work one time, I was really upset and said I could pay half the amount now and half later, so the guy from United Pay Service put me on hold like he was talking to the lender. Then he came back on the line and said the lender was screaming at him saying we have given her enough chances to pay this either pay the whole thing now or else. I wonder if this is one of their tactics acting like they are talking to the lender but not really.

Bass & associates did that to me. And if your going to pay united pay services DO NOT use money gram or western union, Mail them a money order. Or better yet, work with the original creditor. United pay service is located over seas, that is why they don't want to give out an addy so you can send them something.

I recently had some experiences with this and one more left. The sad thing is, this came up because my check book was lost. And thinking I was doing the right thing I closed out the account and attempted to phone the PDL's about it. Well not to my surprise now; you can't get a hold of anyone. Even with the phone numbers that they left me. Talk about a domino hitting hard. I started getting calls from some of the meanist collection agencies threatening to have me arrested for fraud. This happened as little as 2 days after the payment was returned. You'd think since they were so nice in offering the money and phone numbers that they would of attempted to phone at least once. I even already had a new checking account number to give them and they wouldn't take it. They wanted credit card only and then the amount due was 2 or 3 times more.

It was good to get some info about United Processing. Now I can be a little more prepared for them. Did anyone ever get an address for them.

A couple of the PDL's were very cool and just made an arrangement. The best one for GFS. They even waived the fee and had me just pay the principle.

I got a call at work and they got me so ruffled that I gave into what they wanted.

I am doing a little more research with the banking commission on these and see what can be done about cutting them off. No signed papers, no documents on fees, etc. Be careful if they have you sign a waiver on not joining a class action on them..........big red flag. MOre info later as I get it.

I took a pay day loan from FTR Processing, and they tried to take the money out early so the check didnt clear i notified them and they said they closed out my account and sent to collections, now this middle eastern guy from United Pay Services calls me and says he is going to have me arrested for bank fraud and has notified my job that the officer will be comming to get me if i dont pay him $250.00 by Western Union today. I told him to have FTR send me a letter and i would pay them by money order, but they said no i cant do it that way. and i only borrowed $500.00 and they are saying i owe $950.00. I told them i would pay if they send me something. I have never recieved anything from FTR the pay day loan company. I am worried about getting arrested can this happen to me? I dont want to give out my bank info to them because they already had my account overdrawn because they tried to take out the money too early, and the bank closed that account. This is why i want to just send a money order and end it, but this middle eastern guy keeps saying i will be arrested and they have a court case against me. Please help me and give me advice on what to do. I reside in the state of Florida.

Thankyou

First of all, you dont get arrested for pwing money. Second of all, people dont call and alert you to the fact that you are being arrested. This is nothing more than an illegal scare tactic to get you to pay them more than you legally owe. Here are the laws for your state. Also if you do a search in the above box you will find a lot of info on FTR. Dont be scared no one will arrest you.

Ok they are just saying that it is bank fraud because the account is now closed. The reason it was closed is because they kept trying to go in and take money before they were suppose to so my bank closed the accound, and this was all electronic i didnt actually write a check. So i guess i am asking if this is fraud and wouldnt the state of Florida or someone notify by mail. If they would just send me a letter or a bill i would pay it, but they have a middle eastern guy calling me and demanding money be sent by western union i have no idea who he is and he is rude and threatening me he hung up on me 5 times. I had to call him back to get any information.

First of all you need to contact FL AG. Fl is investigating United Pay Services right now. Do NOT send them any money. Tell them you want something in writing. Also inform them to not call your employer. They will call your job 20 million times a day. Tell them you have filed a complaint with the state of FL and the FTC.

I got suckered into paying them some money, not all of what they claim I owed. Then I found this forum and learned my rights and when they called next time BEFORE what they are allowed to, I nailed them and they haven't called again. When they tell you that they are going to have you arrested, tell them ok, I need a vacation anyway. They will get pissed. Like stated before, they cannot do this. Hmmmm...kinda wondering why they haven't told you to use money gram, oh..wait.. thats right, money gram shut down their account.

Do not be scared of these people, they are in the west indies, so they will not come and get you for $250.

I am so sorry to hear that. Well there isn't a chance for her to get her money back (which sucks) But she can file a complaint with her states AG, FL's AG and the FTC. What this company is doing is wrong and the more complaints the better. But next time she gets a call and somebody threatens her(which is illegal) have her get a number, talk to you and then call them back before she agrees to anything. But sorry to say, this is clasic united pay services. Plus when they tell you to use quick collect, when you pay it, it prints out a check to them on a printer in their office (which is over seas).

Hi Denise

Iam really sorry that it happened to your mom.....it would be very hard to get the money back :(.......but next time you get a call from a CA who tells you that they are intending to sue you then do not hit the panic button....your first step should be asking for debt validation.

To get back the money you can follow what puddle says.

Take care n do keep us posted

Nelly

Hello All,

I got a call from "United Pay Services" this morning, at first i did not answer because it was early and the number was a 904 area code. They left a VM claiming to be from the county and they had a case threatening against my social security number, I kind of freaked out, hung up the phone and called them back right away. Boy was that a mistake. After getting threatned by them and them suggesting they will fax over information to the alsip police department, I more or less told them I could not pay the 1400 I "owed" them, and got them into working a payment plan with them. They told me i need to pay 500 through western union by 9pm eastern tommorow. I never meant for this to get so delinquient, I am in a terrible financial rut, and I am just trying to make good on all of my debts so I can get on with my life.

I see most of you have delt with these "people". What should I do now?

Do not western union them any money!! You need to file a complaint with FL and with the FTC. This company needs to be stopped. Tell them you will ONLY send money orders. See how fast they will turn that down. The only reason why they want western union quick collect is because as soon as you send them that money it gets printed out on their own printer over seas.

Can I ask if they are collecting on a defaulted payday loan?

Unfortunately,

I did western union them 250 dollars yesterday, which was all i could afford at the time. They wanted 500, but I was shorted on my pay check for the week and could only afford 250 at the time ( you know there are other things in this life that are necessities, such as high priced gas, and other living essentials)So when she called me back again, she told me " I dont want your 250" and I told her " thats all I can do what do you want me to do", She said we made a promise to do 500 if it yesterday, but when i received my pay check they had already been gone for the day, wherever she is located, my mom thinks China.

It was a defaulted loan, they kept ACH debiting a checking account that was no longer open. She told me that was check fraud, so thats when i freked out a bit, I did not know how to handle them. My mother knows about the situation, called them up and posed to be my attorney and told them to stop harrasing me. What should be done now?

Well first of all it is not check fraud and you cannot be arrested for this. You need to file complaints in FL, your state and the FTC. The more complaints the better on this company. When she told you she didn't want your $250 you should have said well then send it back :x They are not in china lol they are probably located in india. It is a US number but it is routed over seas.

Could you please tell me a few more things? Who was your loan through (we can check to see if this was a legal loan, which is probably not seeing as united pay services has the account now) what state you live in (so we can check the laws for you to see if you over paid) How much you borrowed and if you can how much you paid back (again to see if you have already over paid on this loan, which you probably already have) If you post this we can try and see if you won't have to pay this company any more money (which you probably will not have to)

I have dealt with this company before and they know I have them busted. I really hate how this company feels they can threaten and scare people into paying them. And yes they did scare me into paying them some money. But then I found this site and found out that I had more than paid on my loan and then the money that I sent united paid off what they deposited into my account so I owe them no more and they know this and do not have a leg to stand on. If they try and threaten court, tell them go ahead. It will cost them more money to fly here to the US and take you to court in the county you live in, plus the judge will see that the original loan company did not have a valid license to lend in your state and throw the case out. So just relax, we will help you deal with them :)

I had a very similar incident happen today. I borrowed money in 06 and they called and told my office today for me to call them back because they were sending someone to arrest me today. When I called them back the girl on the phone(mid eastern) told me she was an investigator with the Miami Sheriff's department and she had an an arrest warrant on me if I didn't pay by 11am eastern. When I asked her to fax me something, she became irate and when i questioned where she was and to talk to her supervisor in the department, she hung up on me. I asked her for her address and she gave me a po box. I asked for a physical address and she told me she couldn't give that information out. I then told her that I didn't believe she was an officer and that I would have to investigate her and turn her in for this type of fraud. These are terriable tactics. What should I do now?
