Has anyone ever heard of Financira? If so, negative or positive reactions??

They are a debt settlement company. I have their address below

Financira LLC
P.O. Box 1386
Middlebury, CT 06762
(866) 382-DEBT

Go check with your state AG's office for the consumer feedbacks on this company. Anyone having a bad experience with a company will first report them to the AG and the DFI. Once you have checked them, you will have an accurate picture and know your next step. Keep a watch on this thread for someone posting their experiences about this company

I have been working with Financira for about a year now. :D At first things were kind of rough  becuase  honestly I have a problem with trust and of coarse was to busy and I did not read my materials and to be honest the information intialling provided to me I was so........ stressed I will admit  I did not fully understand it! Im sure you all undertsand how your debt and all of other lifes drama can stress the hell out of you!!

I called frantic and in my wits end ready to cancel about 3 months into Financira's program and becuase like you I also thought I was being taken advantage of but honestly it was my own foolishness.

My customer service represent went through the whole contract and the follow up matierials they sent me to understand the program that I of coarse did not read. :? But once I did it came together and so far 2 of my 5 creditors have been paid. They told me Bank of America can be a tough one but that was the first one they settled!! :)

When I first started Bank of America and that law firm Fred Hanna said they would never.....settled with a 3rd party!! BUT THEY DID!! So far things are going very well for me and Financira!! I wish I lived alittle close to CT so I could thank them inperson for helping me. They are always there for me when I get frazzled!! I would say call your rep keep them updated. They told me to send the correspondance to them and that seemed to really help get the creditors off my back! I wish you others luck in your debt relief ventures! :D :D :D

I have been enrolled with Financira for about 7 months now. They have already settled one of my accounts and the creditor calls have been completely stopped for a number of months. My representative has always been there to help me and he is the most knowledgeable of any financial expert I have ever spoken with in the past. They really care for their clients and the customer service is top notch. I was enrolled in CCCs before for a year and it was a NIGHTMARE!!! There are a few draw backs in the beginning, but overall it has been a much better experience than I first expected.
I have recently referred a friend to their program and she had over 5 times the debt I did. She was so impressed with their program over the many she spoke with. I highly recommend if your are serious about getting out of debt and saving money, They are the BEST!!!

I found out that Financira CANNOT work in the state of Kansas. Please be careful you dont want to be like me. I got sued already. Not sure what road to take. I can barely pay my bills. Any suggestions what I can do to get my money back from Financira? I've been with them for about 10 months. They have settled one account.

I HAVE BEEN WITH FINANCIRA FOR 14 MONTHS. I AM TERMINATING THIS RELATIONSHIP AND WORKING WITH MY CREDITORS ON MY OWN. OF COURSE I STOPPED GETTING CALLS FOR AWHILE, BECAUSE "I" SENT OUT THE POWER OF ATTORNEY FORMS TO ALL THE COMPANIES CHANGING MY CONTACT INFO TO THEM. THEY HAVE ONLY SETTLED O N E ACCOUNT, THAT WAS IN NOVEMBER AND HERE IT IS APRIL AND IT IS STILL NOT SHOWING UP ON MY CREDIT REPORT AS TAKEN CARE OF. I AM NOW RECEIVING CALLS AGAIN BECAUSE THESE CREDITORS HAVE HEARD NOTHING IN 14 MONTHS SO MY CREDIT IS REALLY DOWN THE TUBES. I HAVE BEEN SUED AND OF COURSE FINANCIRA DOES NOT COME TO YOUR ASSITANCE THERE. ALSO THERE WAS ENOUGH MONEY IN MY ACCOUNT TO SETTLE ONE OR TWO OF THE CREDITORS BUT THEY HAD NOT EVEN BEEN CONTACTED!!
I AM GOING TO FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE OF ONE OF THE OTHER GUESTS AND CONTACT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. WITH THE MONEY I HAVE PAID FINANCIRA I COULD CLEAR UP AT LEAST TWO OF MY CREDITORS!!!!

My husband and I started with Financira a year ago. We were leary at first too but they have settled with one of creditors who threatened to sue us. There customer service reps are pretty good with getting back to you in a timely manner. I would recommend them but you must have patience. Your creditors will not settle over night.

Ive been working with Financira for about 1 year now and I was in A LOT of debt...about half of my creditors are paid off and the remaining are almost there too. It is true that debt can be a stressful experience especially when you dont understand a lot about the financial world and have all of these people calling all the time but my representative has been very attentive and understanding with me and carefully explained the contract and exactly what they would be doing. If you take the time to listen they will explain everything to you detail by detail and they have always been honest with me since the beginning...have never had any problems.

My husband was injured in 2005 and we were slowly sinking, Financira claimed to be our debt sollution, BEWARE, we are experiencing a debt nightmare with Judgements on our home. We lost 3400.00 because they got thier $ before your debtors see a nickel and then you start losing everything you have tried to secure. Today our bank accounts were seized and Financira advised us we should file bankrupsy???? That is what we were trying to avoid through Debt Sollution?
They have paid one very small obligation and the rest they have collected. They do not care about you this is just another company getting rich of the blue collar worker trying to survive.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY---TRUST ME :!:

After a quick search, I found "Kindred v. Teixeira et al" filed in the Connecticut District Court. The case is categorized under "Consumer Credit" with the cause listed as "15:1692 Fair Debt Collection Act."

The case was filed on June 2, 2008.

Here's the URL:
dockets.justia.com/docket/court-ctdce/case_no-3:2008cv00836/case_id-81756/

To get more info, you have to have a PACER account.

Does anyone had any luck getting this company investigated and if so, is there a number I can call to report my "nightmare" to. Our bank accounts have been seized and that means they won't even be able to deduct their money so they basically told us "OH WELL". There should be a government office that we can contact regarding them. I did call the Attorney General who was no help and told me to hire a lawyer! With what! I'm about to lose my wages that I do have coming in....I am going crazy
I live in upstate NY (adirondack park area).

Some lawyers may be willing to take the case on contingency (they get paid only if you win the case and are awarded some money) if it's a solid case.

The link in my post above will not work without the www, so if you copy/paste the unlinked URL

dockets.justia.com/docket/court-ctdce/case_no-3:2008cv00836/case_id-81 756/

you need to add back the www (dot)

I tried to not get it to create a hyperlink with the www, but the forum software automatically made it a hyperlink. In any case, if you speak with an attorney, they might be interested in the other case (for background).

They have helped me out A LOT and they are ALWAYS one phone call or one e-mail message away if i have any concern or doubt.

I sure as hell recomend them, they already got me out of one credit with a lot less effort (if i was ever to make it without them) than i initially thought.

If you are seriously considering debt reduction you should most definetely consider Financira.

My review = A++

S C A M!!! Exactly! Only like $3500 in debt now am probably double cuz they didn't do what they said. Just reported them to BBB. Was done with them in March 2008 because they wanted me send them $800 more dollars on top of the $2700 I already paid. Didn't add up...especially when they asked me to send them my credit report. HELLO...credit card consolidation company should be able to retrieve that ya think??? I want my money back and them out of business...they probably get big bonuses too. Probably won't happen unless I spend more money on an attorney...wish I could choke them.

This really scares me now. Financira really sounds like a good company and they definatly take care of me. I've been with them for a few months now. Not enough money to settle any of my debts yet though. I'm hoping that they do what they told me they would and settle all my debt that was under the contract. So far they have been helpful
