I just graduated from college and started my first teaching job. I also work as a music director for a local church. I do very well financially but I checked my credit score today and it is 489. I am depressed and I want to get my credit striaghtened out. Most of the negatives come from my college years.

You stated that you checked your credit score, but did you also get a copy of your credit report from all three credit bureaus? If not, I would suggest doing that and dispute any accounts that may not be correct.

Op,pull all three of your credit reports from the bureaus. Break out electron microscope :mrgreen: and go over them line by line.Dispute incorrect info.Try to add a couple positive tradelines to help offset the neg.
Lastly the only true scores are pulled from myfico.com

What I mean is the scores from myfico are the ones that count.Your lender or future creditor will use a data service to pull them. Each bureau has their individual score. Equifax is a fico score.
