Most pdl's report to teletrack. With a negative report there it will stop you from taking out more pdl's, renting furniture, and other sub prime, high interest high risk loans.
As long as you've never bounced a check and don't have a telecheck report, you should be able to write a check at a store. PDL's shouldn't affect that, but in some states it may be possible. What state are you in?

I think they can report whatever they want. You can dispute it with the reporting agency, and if they can't confirm it then it will be removed. I'm not sure what sort of proof they have to show to get the item on the report in the first place, but I doubt it's much.
