Personally I would not do a debt management plan (aka credit counseling )yet. Those like bad on your credit for 7 years. It looks almost as bad as bankruptcy without the lawyer. I would try and get a balance tranfer with 0% interest and not use it at all. Just pay it off as soon as possible but again DO NOT USE THE CARD.Your debt is just not enough to get help just yet.

Dave, I guess you got a wrong conception regarding credit counseling. First of all, it doesn't stay in the credit report for seven years. It's there as long as you are using the plan. It's removed after the plan is completed. It's not the same like bankruptcy.
People having problems in paying their accounts and getting past the due dates stand no good with their credit ratings. Credit counseling helps them in catching up with the repayments and pay at affordable interest rates. You make one payment for all your debts in the plan and eliminate all the dues. This plan works for improving the credit that is already tarnished at one stage.
