Date: Sat, 03/10/2007 - 08:05
I would like to combine them and pay them all off over the next few months. Is this permissable and can they contact my employer, sue me or attach my bank account in the meantime?
I really need help. I'm tired of living in fear of pdls.

There are numerous posts about these paydayloans..ARe they internet or store front? How much have you paid to them already? How much were the loans for? What state are you in? Most of them will not make arrangemetns with you, they probably wont sue you if they are internet because most of them are operating illegaly but they will destroy your bank account My advice to you is to figure out the above questions and see if you owe them anything more....

Most are storefront. Two are internet. I owe about 7,500, but can pay it back within the next several weeks. I just don't want to keep accuring more debt from payday loans. This was a big mistake.
Also, I'm in Ohio and my bank account is in good standing.

You will want to take care of the store fronts first, they are licensed in your state and can take you to court. You can do letters to the internet ones revoking the ach on your account. Once they don't recieve a payment they will deal with you on those fees, you may have to close your checking account and open another one. You will also need to send them a revocation of voluntary wage assignment letter so they keep their greedy little hands out of your pay check. If you answer cajuns questions, some one will come along and help you.

Still need more info...

You have no reason to live in fear of these swindlers, you have come here and will become informed and therefore, empowered with knowledge of things to avoid in the future and how to deal with your current problems.
I have a suggestion too---if you are choosing to close your current checking account and open another, do this if possible---open the other account FIRST, then close the other. That way you can be sure that is in place and end up being stuck without a bank. I say this because you never know 1--how your current bank will deal with stop payments, withdrawals, etc. and this will insure you have a back-up in place.

I am in OH too-Definately take care of the store fronts-they can and will take you to court if you do not pay them but most are nice about making arrangements. Those internet ones are bad. How much have you paid on the internet ones? Sometimes if you have paid so much they should be marked paid in full according to OH state law....just depends on your situation though :)
Response
I have paid one only about 1,000.00 for a $500 loan.
On the second, I have paid $165 on a $550 loan and they are scheduled to take out $165 more soon.
I wish I had never gotten involved with these places.
Do you think the fact that I've never missed a payment will help when I try to negotiate? I'm readdy to get out of this. It has been so stressful.

Nope I had never missed a payment either and they have treated me horribly...Just gotta figure out how much you owe based on the laws posted above....There are no rollovers in OH so anything you have paid needs to be applied to the principle and appropriate fees based on the loans...YOu have over paid on that one you have paid 1000 on for 500....
Thanks. This is so frustrating, but I'm taking the first steps
Thanks. This is so frustrating, but I'm taking the first steps toward getting out of this cycle. Never again.
