Town and Country(T & C) is a debt consolidation company located in Birmingham, AL.

Thank you. My sister lived in Arizona over five years ago. She had a credit card with a limit of $1000. She closed the accout when she loss her job and made payment arrangements for $100 per month but they continued to bill her late fees and as over limint fees. Her bill is now $4000 and this company 800-218-8710 which refuses to give its name or location unless she first gives them access to her direct deposit bank account. they claim they are in the process of garnishing her pay through suit. How can I verify who these people are?

I just called the # and it said they were Nelson, Watson, and Associates. Their address is

According the the BBB, they are not a member. Tell your sister do not give them her banking info.
If you do a google search in the top right hand corner of this page, you will see what others had to say about this company.

You need to check out your state law on wage garnishment, just to make sure. I would not give any of them bank account information. Tell them if they can not identify themselves and give her debt validation to go................ They should send her written notice of the account with in five days of the initial communication and they defineatly (sp) need to validate the debt. They sure don't sound very professional, but not many debt collectors are. You can google debt validation on this site, there is a pretty good explanation here somewhere, ran across it once or twice, have questions out there myself that I am waiting on clarification on. Town and Country is a debt consolidation firm that help with PDLs. I have an account with them right now and I have been very successful in paying off my bills. At first they were a problem because it took you forever to get in contact with them and sometimes having to wait up to twenty minutes to speak to a human. But it has improved lately.
