Ange- first of all, be sure and respond to the summons in the time limit they give you, or they will be awarded a default judgement. When you go to court, take all the copies of your correspondence as proof you have tried to make good on this debt. They probably bought the debt for pennies on the dollar, most do. I would still send them a debt validation letter, certified, return receipt, just to have more paper work. They have added interest and their own fees to make the amount greater. Don't give them your banking info, or they will wipe out your account. If you want to settle, be sure and get everything in writing from them BEFORE you send them money. Good Luck!!.Karen

I am not sure how to word this debt validation letter as the sample letters this site gives are not valid for me. I have spoken to these people in the past and i have also tried to settle this debt with refusal from them and NO response back from them on my last request in July of 2006.
Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

debt validation letter must cover the basic points that confirm any collection agency making a legitimate call on the debtor. See the letter below. The points that you need to know from the collector are mentioned in the link.

Go to the local county and verify the case filed by CACH. They are allowed to add collection fees and other charges that are legal in your state. You can verify those charges when the debt gets validated and give a call to your state AG.
