Yeah, it's kinda frustrating. I think you have enough to go ahead and say that these companies should be licensed to lend. Per the exceptions in the laws, they should be licensed, and per the intent of the laws, which says:

Anyway...from my experience, WaMu really doesn't do any kind of Chexsystems sweep. If you open a checking account, and everything is fine, you're good to go. If you come in a few months later, and open a savings account to go with your checking, the banker may or may not run a chexsystem check on you again. If something comes up then, the back office can close all accounts related to your name. I'm saying they CAN close accounts, but I've never seen them actually do it. THe best bet is to wait 180 days before opening a second account in case anything may come up. 180 days is the time it takes for our system to recognize someone as a regular customer. You're less likely to change banks after that much time. I hope this helps. :P

Thanks swedes..I did open achecking and savings at the same time..so thats agood thing huh! and the old bank reversed the charges..so I am not worried about that anymore..
