I have 15 PDLs at this time. I have been in touch with Langhorne debt solutions. They first tell me to close my checking acct. I live in Kentucky. Does anyone know what my liability for closing this checking acct is? This is the only thing scaring me about this PDL settlement right now. I just can't wait until they are all gone and wish the companies were out of business. They are killing people.

Oh please stay away from Langhorne debt solutions. Please do a search on the internet using Langhorne and you will see horrible stories. People lost all their monthly payments. I lost only 1 month before I backed out of my contract with my attorney

I have heard many negatives about Langhorne on this website but then again, I have heard negatives about debt consolidation companies in general.

Have you tried to Do It Yourself using the methods located on this website? It is much cheaper if you try to do it yourself and most creditors would rather work with you than with your debt consolidation company. Have you tried to contact your creditors and work out a settlement arrangement with your companies? YOu might be surprised to learn that many of them are willing to work with you if you allow them to.

Please research a debt consolidation company before you use them. Also, you cannot be prosecuted for closing a checking acccount. HOwever, if you have any checks to PDL's out there, I would recommend that you contact the companies where you have these checks at and request that they assist you in a payment plan.

Here are the laws in KY. Check the fine prints from each lender and make sure that they are adding the charges as per the laws. Most IPDL companies are famous for making money by illegal means. They keep on adding obnoxious interest rates and fees so that you are never able to catch up the principal amount.

Internet payday loan in Kentucky are illegeal. I suggest contacting the Kentucky Office of Financial Institutions the number is (502) 573-3390. I talked to them and they helped me out and answered all of my questions. I do encourage you to report the ones that harass you. They can not do that. Hang in there and with the help of these people here you will get through it.

Can you list the companies that you have loans with, how much you borrowed and how much you have paid them back. Someone will come along and help you out. You may have money coming back from some of them. You may get some paid in full. List the information above and guarenteed someone here has dealt with some of them, we have all been there, that is how we ended up here. We are here for you, and we will help you out.

Not that I am trying to be in your business or anything, but how were you able to get fifteen loans at once? I know that most companies do a check to see how many loans you have out there and most will not allow you to have a loan if you have more than two or three out there and I was wondering how were you able to get fifteen loans.

I will second that because I had seven payday loans (internet). They continued to let me borrow, without even doing a check, just my electronic signature and proof of employment, that was all they cared about. The storefront loans were the only ones that went by the rules and wouldn't let you take anymore out.

Mishele had near 20 loans..I had 6 or more..I forget lol..It's like post traumatic amnesia or something....Many many people on here had tons of loans.

Closing your bank account is the best way to regain control of your paycheck. And we've found that the PDL's are more cooperative when they know that you are now calling the shots.

Having 15 loans is not at all uncommon. When I was in my heavy PDL period, I think I had 9 at one time. I think everyone has to get to the point where they wake up and smell the coffee and realize that it's a self-defeating cycle of debt they are on and the only way to make a first step and break out of it is to close that checking account and get a new one.
And these companies DO NOT CARE--they are just out to make a buck at our expense!!

I completely agree, just to give you hope motomom, and all others who are new to this forum as well, I came across this searching for a way to get rid of my payday loans. I know that I have to pay them back but it is impossible when you were taking out more to payback interest on others. Many of the people on here are in the same boat as we are. I just closed my account, and canceled my direct deposit. I am finally on my way to freedom! I can't wait! I'm so excited to get my first check as for the past 6 months or so I only get to see maybe $20 out of my check every two weeks. It was crazy, yet I continued to let myself struggle. Now that I found this forum and got great ideas from great people who were once in the situation I am in now, I am finally feeling free. Good luck with everything you do, I hope for the best. Keep your head up and take advice, people in here do know what they are talking about. Also, make sure to use your free counselor as that will also help you and to see where you are at and what the best plan for you will be.

I haven't even been here more than a week and I already feel like I can ask you guys anything. I also feel like you are there supporting me along. Thank you everyone for your advice, support and just for being there! :)

Thanks for all the information. I felt like I was drowning with these PDLs. I felt I had no choice but to get help ASAP. I did go with Langhorne and so far have been very satisfied. My PDLs went into default 3/23/07 and I have not had the first phone call as they contacted the PDLs on 3/26/07. I feel if I had more time I could have taken care of these with all the information you all have provided. I have already missed enough work robbing peter to pay paul and on and on so this I felt was the best solution for me. I wish I had found this forum sooner. I will keep you all updated. Thanks again.

Update - I have not had any nasty calls and this morning have an email from Payday OK that I am PIF. Oh my goodness. This one itself almost pays for Langhorne's services. Payday OK was well overpaid and that email just made my day. Good luck to anyone else in this PDL mess. Just hang in there.

Hello everyone I have been reading everyones blogs and they have been giving me very good information. I have a total of 8 loans out. Two of them have went to collections at a law office they keep calling my job harrassing me about the money. I keep telling them I will give it to you when I get it. Its a long story but i was doing good by paying the interest on the loans that I had out next thing you know I realize I am in way over my head, these places kept letting me get the loans even though i had like 3 out. I don't know how I am going to pay off these loans so I can get them off my back. I want to work out a monthly plan with them but they want more than what I can pay.The place that keeps calling me at work is called PDM? Has anyone ever heard of this place, this is where two of my loans got sent to. They say if I can't pay by this date, they are going to call and verify my employment. I I can't let that happen, there has been situations at my job where collections kept calling her and wanted to speak to the supervisor and she got fired.
I am at my wits end with these people. I go to them to get help, and if something happens where I can't pay, they are hounding me like crazy. I have learned my lesson with payday loans that is for sure. If anyone can give me any advice I would greatly appreciate it.
Also you can email me at dezzera@gmail.com, with any information you may have.
Thank you.
