can I get lower payments on a judgement

MD.
It went to court I didn't. It was some time ago when that happed so I now vaguely rember a letter from the court - to answer the question is legal.
Also the the original bill stemming from the judement was money that was owed to an attorney.

I have been paying on it for about 7 months.

The payment plan can be modified in a judgment. Read this page for more information regarding judgment and the process involved.

If you want the court to cancel the judgment entered against you and set a new trial date, you can file a Notice of Motion to Vacate Judgment.

Ok,
Now that I have the info requested, let us see what can be done. Most states have a motion or letter you can send to the court stating that payments are creating a hardship on your financial obligations. The court will want proof of everything. If approved, they will modify it to fit your current income. I will look into rules of civil procedure and get back to you.
