A few things you need to learn stated below:
Who is internet pdl and are they licensed in your state?
You have already confirmed lack od barcard.
Go to your state web page and look up statutes for payday/check cashing businesses.Look up collections related to this type of business. If he calls you again, inform him of lack of barcard and that only law enforcement can press criminal charges. If he is within his rights and in compliance with laws,he may be able to file complaint.

As I read it, an NSF check to a PDL is not a criminal matter, but perhaps someone else will know for sure. Did you write the check knowing there was not available funds for it to be paid?
Many iPDLs operate outside of the law, both lending and collecting. The threat of arrest/prosecution is all too common for this "industry."
I would advise contacting your Dept. of Banking, and filing a complaint, perhaps they can also help you make sure the iPDL isn't charging you too much for a loan. Others will chime in here, too, but make sure you file your complaint.

I also believe that in all 50 states, it is illegal to misrepresent oneself as an attorney. May be hard to prove, but it is illegal never the less.

The thing is that, now that I am thinking about it, I did not write them a check and fax it. I faxed them a copy of my debit card (account closed now)...but he did say that he could prosecute me for felony check fraud charges. They are not licensed to do business in washington state where I live...

I am sorry if I am not clear here. I took out an Ipdl, and I have defaulted on it due to another ipdl company debiting my account for alot more than they were authorized to do so, but when I took out the loan, I filled out their form, and faxed a copy of my debit card, not a check, can they press check fraud charges if I didn't write them a check?????

The agreement may have given them permission to withdraw the funds from your bank in the form of a check.

Sounds like you could not be prosecuted in WA. MS is irrelevant, you took the loan out in WA.

I am trying to find PDL laws for the State of Minnesota and am not having any luck. You probably have seen me problems I'm having with QuickPay LLC out of Pennsylvania. I took out a $300 loan and they already received that amount plus $347.50 in fees. Now they sent it to a collection agency;NCO; who tacked on another $200.00 fee. PA BBB could not get them to settle with me so now I am going to contact Minnesota's Attorney General. I have a signed agreement that I faxed to them agreeing this loan would be marked paid in full. They are now claiming they never received the fax and all I have is my original copy.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you Morningstar for the information. I didn't receive an email that I had an answer. I will contact them right away. I also received an email from the PA Attorney General to fill out a complaint form with all the details and fax it back to them. I will let you know how that turns out.
