Marjorie - debt consolidation program does not affect your credit rating. It is designed to improve your financial standing and enhance your credit worthiness.
Before considering for a debt consolidation program, my credit was in real bad shape. I was shocked to see my credit scores and later I realized that in order to achieve better credit ratings, I will have to concentrate on improving my credit file. That can only be done when my payments are shown as paid in full in my credit report. I was doing a research for a debt consolidation firm and discovered this site.
This company has helped me a lot in erasing the bad marks in my credit report and the consultant tactfully negotiated with my creditors to reduce the total amount of my debt. The consultant also made it clear with the creditors to report my accounts as paid in full to the credit bureaus and the results are in front of me.
As long as you are in the program, debt consolidation will appear in your credit report but it will disappear after your accounts are paid in full.
The consultant informed me that the creditors usually appreciate the responsibility of the consumers taking care of their debts. Thus, they are willing to wipe off the financial charges, late fees on the total amount of my debt. The pleasure cannot be described in words.
I have seen the impact of the debt consolidation program and working with this debt consolidation care was awesome. I will suggest you to make this positive move and feel the difference for yourself. I will bet you that you will also find yourself relaxed as I am right now. :D
