Looser! That pretty well sums up how I feel about my ability to manage my finances. I am 52 years old and I'm not sure that I'll ever get myself together. I was a widow at 40 with three children, $86.00 in cash and a husband to bury. My older two children are by my first husband, my third buy my deceased husband. I've managed for the past few years thanks to social security but now my baby is 17, they want let me draw social security for myself anymore, and I have gotten myself in some real trouble. My oldest two children have now married and left the nest. It's just me and the baby who has just started to work part time herself. She's a junior in high school and I feel that I have made her "good years" a living nightmare. At this moment in time I have 3 online payday loans, and one local. I am in default with the three online and was called yesterday by some outside collected on one of them. I know she was telling me about either paying now or having to take action with the police. She gave me one hour to come up with the money. I explained to her that I don't have the money but she didn't care. I really could not understand all that she was telling me because of her heavy accent and broken english. All the consolidation people I have spoken with will not take the payday loans. Please give me some direction. I don't know which way to go. The bank finally closed my checking account with an overdrawn balance of around 800.00. This is all from overdraft charges and I am running out of hope. Please help!

Sorry to hear about your hard times. You have come to the right place for advice, help, vent or whatever...The person that called you did she say what company she was from? Did you get a number? Wow, it's been a long hour huh? And no one has shown up at your door :) Everything will be OK. She cant threaten you with the police. There is no debtors prison. Please give a little more info on the payday loans we will help you...:)

Tweety is right, you won't go to prision, and they are just trying to scare you into paying with the police. The police don't care if you owe money, they have real crimes to deal with.

If you look in the debt settlement forum you will find a TON of information about payday loans. If you want to post what state you are in, how much you borrowed, from who, and how much you've paid back we can help you.

Also, since your bank closed your account with a negative balance they probably sent a report of it to chexsystems. This can make is more difficult to open a new bank account. But there is a list here of banks that you could still open an account at, so all is not lost.

You've came to the right place for help with payday loans. Just post a little more information and we can send you in the right direction!

Yes she did give me a phone # with the area code of 407. The name of the company with United something. Like I said, her accent was so heavy I was having a hard time understanding her. When I call the # back they don't answer with the company name. The payday loan was thru Astro Lending and was for 390.00. Their emails came from the bmg group. The collector said I now owe 510.00 plus 300.00 to them. I also have an outstanding loan with Cash Link USA and East Side Lenders. Believe it or not, I have paid off two loans, one with Cash Central who was very good to work with and the other Cash Transfer Centers who was a living nightmare. I paid them $510 and they still garnished my wages for $66.00. Please don't misunderstand me, I have been very blessed in my life, all of this is my own doings and I'm really ashamed of my stupidity. Thank you for all the help, advise, and just letting me vent.

I think BMG group is with a bunch of collection agencies....you need to find out what your state laws are for payday loans. http://www.paydayloaninfo.org/index.cfm

They want 510.00 PLUS 300.00 down? Look up this link and see if they are even licensed in your state to provide payday loans...I bet they arent...figure out what you have paid back.

This collector from United has just called me again but I wasn't able to take the call. My original loan was for 300.00, payback 390.00. She is saying that my balance is 510.00 plus the 300.00 that I owe her company for collection fees. I went to the website but I'm not getting any of these loan centers to pull up.

If they aren't pulling up on your state's banking website, then they aren't licensed. You need to file complaints with your attorney general's office, and start writing some letters.

I would start with writing to this United and ask them to validate the debt. You can find examples of how to do this on this site. Since the debt is at a third party collector, you actually have more rights. If you don't want them to call you anymore, send them a cease and desist letter. If they continue to call they can be fined for it.

Don't be too hard on yourself. I am in almost the same situation and i took my mother with me..but we are managing. We have been able to pay some of the overdue utilities since we closed our checking account and opened a new one and I just sent letters out today (certified) of a revocation of wage assignment and a payment arrangement that I can afford. If they don't accept the payment arrangement then they don't want their money bad enough (in my opinion). Feel free to vent to me anytime..

I never saw the garnishment. It went directly to my corporate offices where my payroll is done. She did call me and ask me if it was mine. I do payroll for a transportation company in Alabama. Our home office is in Oak Brook Il. What do you do if they want work with me. I don't have the whole dollar amounts or I would have paid them alread. My goal, get these payday loans gone, get out of debt. I would really like to buy me a townhouse and have a place to call mine before I pass on from this life. I surely don't want to be a problem for my children. I work about 45 hours at this job. I am also trying to get by bartending license so I can work on the weekends. It is soooooo great having someone to talk with that won't judge me. God Bless.

The fact that you have that original account closed is a good thing. The current overdraft balance - well, that sucks, but you can get that fixed in time. The main keep is that these leach companies will get money from you on YOUR terms, not theirs. Do NOT give them you new banking info. No matter what. They will threaten you with court and jail and such. All those threats are illegal.

As other's have said, it seems you have more than satisfied the loans. That fee of $500 above the original loan is a joke, in my opinion. I am sure someone with more experience with iPDLs can confirm that.

BTW - "looser" is not what I would call you. For starters, you misspelled it. There are not two "O's".

The correct spelling is "s-m-a-r-t". There will be a test later - you better study. :)

To be honest, I don't know what I've signed. Talking about adding insult in ingury. I think I kept a copy of everything they sent me. I do still owe these three loans. This all started around Sept of last year. I paid numerous times to have the loans renewed. What do ya'll (southern slang) recomend my next step be. I haven't heard from the other two places yet but I know I'm on borrowed time.

From what Tweets posted, you could only roll them over once, if I read it properly. You said you are in Alabama. Per Tweets (via this link paydayloaninfo.org/state_detail.cfm?id=AL):

As I said, I am not the best of PDLs, but from what I read, they could only renew the loan one time. goudah/ks - am I right in that?

First and foremost---I agree with the above---you are not a "loser". You said that no debt consolidation companies worked with PDLs---did they mention Town and Country Acceptance? That is a debt consolidation company that does work with PDLs. Don't worry and I know that is easy to say---you will get it all straightened out and everything will get better.

Ok I just went through this real fast because as soon as I saw United and BMG it set me off. Sorry if any of this was said earlier. I just wish that somehow they could be shut down along with Bass.

BMG will tell you that they don't have to follow your states laws because they are located in the Bahama's. It is Bahama's marketing Group. and the collector sounds like United pay services/united processing services. I have a defaulted loan with BMG and I turned that one over to my state DFI along with united pay. They both stopped calling once I told them that what they are doing is illegal and I am not paying by moneygram or western union. I also told them that as soon as they send me validation of how much I already paid then I will pay for the amount of the loan only and only by money order. I have not heard from them for a couple of weeks now. I have yet to receive anything in the mail from them.

Most of all I would work with any storefront payday loans that you have first. Then work on the other ones. Just to let you know, you are not alone in the payday loan trap. I am there myself and trying to dig myself out. I wish you the best of luck :)

JCompton, What Tweety and Jedi are saying is 100 percent correct. You have rolled over a lot according to your state laws they are not allowed to do that. Also if they are not licensed in your state you only pay back the principal on these interent loans. They will tell you you have to follow their state laws. They say that in WV but they found out WRONG!!!! Most important Please contact your Attorney Generals office consumer division and see what advice they can give. Best Wishes KYSIDE38

YOU ARE NOT A LOSER!!! Don't think that, because that is the one thing that will keep you from working through this.

What are the 3 companies that you owe? I could probably bet a billion dollars that at least someone on this site has dealt with them before.

Don't let them discourage you. You will NOT be arrested. Period.

Next time they say that they're sending the police over to get you, tell them you've been thinking about a vacation. :) Or tell them to make sure it's a sexy one, because you've always had a thing for cops...:) I'm being silly. It's been a long day. :)

You'll be fine. Let us know who you're dealing with, and you'll be done with these in no time.

If you have been paying since september you are probably already paid up in full and the balances are these greedy sharks trying to collect funds that they are not legally entitled to collect. You have some real good advice given to you in this forum. You should follow it, first thing that was mentioned is that they need to validate the debt, otherwise they may not even own it.

East Side Lenders, I found the following contact info from their website:
East Side Lenders, LLC
103 Foulk Rd. Suite 101
Wilmington, DE 19803
Phone: 866-569-6636
e-mail: service(at)eastsidelenders.com

Is it the same company? Looking for info on the others.

Another thing we need to know--How much did you borrow from each, and how much have you paid?

Do not take any of these colletor people seriously. They are powerless to do anything but try to intimidate you. Send them all a cease and desist letter telling them they may not call you, or anyone you know. If they persist file a complaint with the FTC and the Attorney General in the state that they are located. Then just laugh at them if they keep calling. They are the losers because this is all they can do. They can't eat you so don't worry! Make it a sport. Right Tweety. You seem to pop up everywhere!

I borrowed 390 and have the 390 to pay Astro and have been calling them and no answer. THe outside collection agency told me I had until today by 4.30 to pay this 763 or she will file charges with my state attorney for fraudulent intent.

Hun my heart really goes out to you...and, I really don't know much about this particular issue...I am in trouble with student loans.

But I do know that I wss molested at 13 and became pregnant....my daughter was born 2 wks. aftyer I turned 14.

This was in 1971 so there really wasn't any help available....I couldn';t even go to school. My parents were alcoholics and my my father was a very brutal wife beater. I witnessed many bloody and ugly scenes. So needless to say they weren't of any help....my Mother went with me to Mexico and I married my molester..he was 41..I was 13..but I wanted my baby.

I stayed with him for 5 yrs. and it was 5 yrs. full of beatings, rapes, and very odd things...his brother was also a child molestor..he actually went to prison yrs. later for molesting a 12 yr. old. AnyHoo..at 16 I gave birth to my 2nd daughter from this same relationship. I stayed until I was 18. Because at that time in the 70's no-one really seemd to care....I tried to get help from gov. agencies but they said I didn't qua;ify...go figure that 1!

Today I am 50 and I suffer from extreme chronic anxiety, panic disorder with agoraphobia, and also PTSD. But, none of this hit me un til my mid to late 30's. So after raising my 2 girls I went back to school...got my GED and then went to college and then this crazy mental disorder hit me.

I was able to overcome everything I just told you about and managed to raise my 2 girls very successfully. My oldets now has her PHD in english Liut. She even graduated with honors. and my youngest..now 33 is an RN curently working on her bachelor's degree.

As for me I am 50....can't even get out on my front porch w/o some pretty heavy duty medication. I haven't been able to work in 7 yrs. And I owe $36,000+ in student loans. And they are all in default..and do you think they care?...LOL...th very same gov. that wouldn't prosecute the sick pediphile that got me pregnant, and for that matter wouldn't help me get away from my parents or anything.

But you know what....I am still here...typing on a computer....and I have food to eat, a roof over my head...so the good Lord has always provided.

I wish I had more concrete hgelp for you...but all I had ws to share my story........hang in there....they can't eat you or put you in jail. And, I have found that no matter how bad it is...it always turns back around and gets better!!

Sending you my best!!!!
