Help me to get my debt paid off

Hello, cm3smith. I'm pretty new on this site, but I've learned a lot already. The folks and moderators all seem to have loads of information for us!

I know from my own personal experience that debt is so rough. I am still in it, but not quite as bad, partly because I've revised my spending habits and also gotten a few raises.

Tricks I've used, without going to a credit counselor or debt consolidation company are to take all of my bills -- mostly my credit cards first, and make a list. Make the list of the card and what the balance is.

I'll look at the list and pay off the card with the lowest balance first. I know alot of people say to pay off the ones with the highest interest first, but for me, the smaller the balance, the faster I can pay it off.

Then don't use that card!!!

It's not professional advice, and it may not work for you, but that's what I do and it seems to be working out ok so far. Not sure about your particular situation. Poke around on the different threads and just wait, you'll get lots of advice.

cm3smith, you will find people here with all kinds of experiences. Some find consolidation to be the best option for them while others think that they will manage their debts by settling it. There are few who go through the bankruptcy route. You need to figure out the best options and fight against your debts. What exactly is your situation like? Please tell us more so that we know we are advising in the right direction.
