I have very bad credit, I owe about 6 companies money from 2004-2005. I'm not paying on any of them right now, but I was hoping with help I might be able to start. Mine is the only income in the house($704 weekly) & my daughter has diabetes which is very costly. Barnone helped me get a car but I'm paying $521.71 a month on the payment. I'm trying to refinance but w/ bad credit even my own bank will not. With bills, food, & medical cost I hardly have any money left to try to pay off the debts that I owe plus the interest and late fees. For example for Radio Shack the org. balance was $454.96 but w/ fees $1164. I was told there are debt counselors that could possible help. Is there any way you can help me? Thank you for your time. The best way to reach me is e-mail.email address removed as per forum rules - Mike

Soon a consultant will call and discuss about your financial situation. Enroll in one of the dmp program for a lower repayment plan. The counselor will inform your creditors about your enrolling in the program and negotiate for lower interest rates. He will also try to waive off some late fees to get a reduced balance.

Go through the DIY section in case you want to try negotiating with the creditors on your own. Follow the steps on how to talk with the creditors and make them work your terms.

You have come to a wonderful place. Not only can you get some help on how to handle your debt, but you can get a lot of support and encouragment as you go along you "adventure". Seriously, it will be ok. Most of us, if not all, have been and still are, in similar situations. Everyone here supports everyone else as we travel the road to become debt free, which is everyone's goal. Here you do not have to feel alone. Welcome and hang in there. It will all work out for you.
