I sent Payday Select and Payday OK the letter the other day showing how much I borrowed, had paid, etc. They replied last night. I borrowed $200 from each. I have paid Payday Select $90 and Payday OK 121.44. Payday OK wrote back and said my balance is $160 and they will let me make monthly payments of $40 until June, when they want 2 payments. Payday Select says my balance is $200. They also will take monthly payments of $50 to get that paid off. They are still charging me more than the legal amount. What should I do-just suck it up and pay what they want, or email them back with a counter offer of what I should REALLY owe? The payments they want isn't the issue, but that is money I could put towards T & C because I plan to put Cashnet500 and Cashland with them because otherwise those 2 places will come after me. I have filed complaints with the Ohio AG against Payday OK and Payday Select.

Hmm thats a tough one....On one hand you have already paid what you owe and I feel you should stick to that but on the other hand you can make these arrangements and get them off your back...DO you have this in writing or just via phone conversation? Cuz I wouldn't do anything without it in writing....

I have it in email. It is tough for me too. They were really nice about making the payment arrangments and didn't give me any trouble about it but that is still a lot of money that I #1 don't legally owe, and #2, don't have!! Heck no, I am not talking to any of these people on the phone anymore!!! I don't trust any of them!

Yeah thanks...That will be my adventure for next week...Or maybe I will do it tomorrow before I am off for the weekend...of course there may be some responses to my snail mail at my parents house that I do not know of...Have you decided what to do? I think I would either stick to my guns that they are paid in full or take the settlement...Of course I have no spare money right now to take any settlement offer lol

I know, it was a strong statement but it's the truth. I am still not sleeping good. Whenever I wake up in the middle of the night all I can think of is Payday Avenue, United Cash Loans, etc.....and how I am going to deal with them. I don't get more than 3-4 hours of sleep ever since I got into this mess but I am not really suicidal anymore.

Does anyone else have any ideas if I should go with their payment arrangements and pay them way more than I owe or should I keep fighting them? I really can't afford to pay them more than I legally owe. I have promised so many people $50 payments here and there that soon I will not be able to pay my bills again not to mention that due to all these excessive withdrawals my husband's car is about to get repossessed because the check by phone I did bounced.

Search my posts and you should find the email i sent. i got a PIF letter 3 or 4 days after i emailed them.

Sass, what i would do in your case if you can find your statutes citationized is cut and paste them in an email using the contact us on their homepage. Quote your applicable state laws and make a statement in bold at the end of each statute. I have done that to other PDL companies with success. I have a couple that are trying to outlast me but paydayselect just dropped the issue. I requested copies of the loan docs to verify what i owed them and kind of hinted i may file a complaint with the FTC and the AG's office. Just kind of subtle threats i suppose..lol. On another not i got one to admit on tape that they are approved by the US Army as a place to get a loan. I played that one for the Ft. Sill SJA(Staff Judge Advocate) office and they are looking into popping them as a government entity and putting them off limits. So a little determination goes a long way.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER AGAINST PDLS! The peple on this sight rock and are full of insight

Ok, I emailed Payday OK and Payday Select and again told them the laws, and that I do not owe as much as I stated. They wrote me back within an hour and settled for the principle I owe and the legal interest. They set up a monthly payment plan split up into 4 months that I can afford. I am happy with the outcome and 2 more pdl's handled!! That is 4 that I have taken care of myself that I was thinking of paying someone else to handle and this is all thanks to everyone here!!! This is a wonderful forum and I am so grateful for you all.
