If a CA/other goes after any money in your bank account, what steps must they have taken before doing this? Thank you.

CAs will do skip tracing to locate their customers. They will find your place of employment, call your seniors, view your credit report only and track your personal information. They will try to debit money from your account, no matter if you have authorized them or not. Report them to the law enforcement agencies when you notice their fraudulent actions.

Before garnishments of any sort happen, they must get a judgement. Now I will list some execeptions to this:
1.Child support
2.Taxes
3.Student loans(Government backed)
4.Government obligations
On these execeptions most gov. debts have authority to do a admin. garnish. Simply find your money and swipe it.

Thank you all for your responses.I guess I'll be ok for awhile as this is all cc debt.Everything has been turned over to a credit helping company, but you know how it all can make you feel inside some days.I fear capture and the torture treatment will come any hour now. Thanks for the help.Keep up your wonderfull work.

Believe me, I can relate.

The feeling of insecurity can be overwhelming at times.

I feel as if they are peeping in all my windows and hiding in my shrubbery.
