You stated your wages are about to be attached. Do you have a judgement against you?
If you gave your phone number at signup, you should receive a call from a credit counselor soon. They'll go over your financial picture and discuss your options. You don't have to use their services, but if you choose to go through any company, research them thoroughly, you don't want to get ripped off. You can use this site, google, your state's consumer protection agency, the BBB, etc...
Don't be afraid to share more of your story, between all the members here, there's a lot of experience and knowledge here to help you out.
Get professional advice now!
What I would suggest you do is to get professional advice. I am a debt counselor (and a former compliance manager for a collection agency) and I see this quite often.
Contact an agency you trust and get a plan together. Wage garnishment is a serious issue. There are many collection agencies that routinely use this as a method of payment. It is really disgusting!
Do not rule out the possibility of bankruptcy. There are some (not many) cases where bankruptcy is a viable alternative. Although there are limitations on what you make, how much you owe, etc... it sounds as though it may be an option for you. Don't feel ashamed about it either because it is becoming a necessary evil for a lot of people.
Right now, your credit is going to be ruined for years. If your credit card accounts are closed and written off you will be in even more financial trouble. I am just urging you to look at all of the options and make an informed decision.
Good Luck
Alicia, That is very good advice and you sound very experienced
