well my story this is how it all started. when i started college i didn't want to stay on campus so me and a friend of mine got an apartment together. We went to a furniture store to see if we could get financing to get some funiture but they told me that i had no credit and that i should apply for some credit cards to get my credit going so i did. then when i moved back home to help my sister take care of her kids it took me 3 months to get a new job but i was still making good payments on my credit cards but in the middle of the year i started getting sick and i went into rejection (liver transplant)and was hospitalize for about 2 or 3 months so for 5 months i had so income and by this time i was in my own apartment and had no way to pay any of my bills, nor buy food.so i got behind on my credit cards and they all were eventually sent to collections. so when i started back getting a income again i starting calling them all to try to catch my payments back up but they wanted me to pay outragious amounts they knew no one could afford so i decided to pay them only what i could and if they don't like it oh well too bad. some have been understanding some have just been getting on my nerves. so now you know my story, welcome to my life.

Hi blinkyberry

Good to know that you are keeping well. When you are making the payments, are you checking if the company is posting it on your file? Be confirmed that the balance is going down.

The interests and fees are to be mentioned in the agreement copy. Go through it and dispute the inaccuracies.

Good for you---you have taken the initiative and have resolved to try and take care of some of your debt. Do what you can, when you can. Your health is your number 1 priority (which I am sure you have been told numerous times). Worrying about money is never worth it---you go!

thank you all for your comments. how about i called one of the creditors who say i have a debt with them and told them to send me a copy to verify that i do indeed have debt with that credit card when i remember paying it in full i called them about a week ago and i still haven't received anything from them but they expected me to just pay them $450 over the phone i don't think so.

Thanks for sharing your story. I have been in your shoes before, and I know how hard it is to get out of the pit. Mine got so bad, that I ended up declaring bankruptcy back in 04. Since then, I have learned my lesson and thankfully got a second chance. Now my credit is good (bankruptcy has been discharged) and I'm slowly re-establishing credit. I was able to put my house in my name in january of this year. All of it was a slow process to correct, and I know what mistakes not to make again.
Good luck to you!
