Hello, I had a past due accnt with midland credit management of 1750. I have paid 1000 of that and have been monitoring my report. Since payment has been made, I show that there is a new accnt with midland, but it has the same accnt #, and now it shows on my report as 2 accnts, one for the original balance of 1750, and one for the current balance of 750. I called midland to ask why they reported again, and I was told that they only reported it once, and that it was the credit bureau that listed it again. Is there anyway that I can have the old accnt closed or removed so that it doesn't damage my credit twice the amnt it should for just the one accnt? Please let me know if there are any suggestions.

thanks :)

Write a letter to midland credit management also requesting them to fix the error with the bureaus. Since they are involved with this item, they should have no problems in calling the bureaus and do the correct reporting on your account. Your dispute will be filed with the bureau as well with Midland, whoever fixes it first. Do all the correspondence in writing through certified mail and return receipt requested
