Access Group Defaulted Me

I only made $10,000 last year. Used up all my deferment with Access Group. Each month I called a customer service Rep at their servicer, Kentucky Higher Ed, and each time the rep told me the minimum payment to make...i did that for 5 months, then last month AccessG Group said I defaulted becuase I was short TWENTY SIX DOLLARS! Access Group has this "we can do no wrong attitude" and says "your account went into default...you must pay $3,800 in 10 days to reinstate from the delinquincy"
These are private loans...if I don't get any more loan money I can't finish college, if i can't finish college i can't get a job, if i can't get a job i can't make loan payments...I sent certified letter to Access Group and Kentucky Higher Ed demanding my account be reinstated w/o paying the extortion fee of $3800...WHAT ELSE CAN i DO?
