So, I just get a call from a different employment agency that I registered with. They have a position open that could start on Monday. It would be a filing position that would be decent. The best part is that it's only a few miles from home. I wouldn't be spending all that much money on gas. Gas is around $2.70 per gallon here right now. Plus, I wouldn't be spending so much time in the car. It would run until June but she thinks I could get hired on in a different department. It recently happened with another gal from the same employment agency.
This week I've gone on three second interviews. One of those might pan out into a full-time position. All are within twenty minutes of my house. I would really love to find something closer to home. I'm not afraid of doing the "office grunt" work as some call it. I look at it as gaining experience. She's supposed to call me back this afternoon once she talks to the employer. She's going to fax my resume over. Think good thoughts for me :-)

Every time you go for an interview, they need to flea bomb the place after you leave. Maybe someone would offer you a job if you left your little friends at home.
Kidding aside, I wish you luck. Nobody likes grunt work but it's a starting point. Any job I've had, I've started at the bottom/entry-level and worked my way up. After you bust your @$$ for a while and management sees you're a good worker that puts in lots of effort, they will move you up to better position/better pay.

Mishele I know that you are unhappy with the long commute and the new job isn't what you expected it to be. I would go for the one that is offered you close to home. Who knows - one of the other places just may call sooner than you think.

Right now I'm working in customer service and I was a direct hire. I'm still in the probationary period so I wouldn't have to give any amount of notice. This other job would just be a temp position at the moment. My thoughts are I could work that and still look for something closer to home.

Mishele~I would say you need to follow your heart. Also, pray about it and you will be led down the right path. Sometimes for me I have to pray and ask for guidance and it will come. Heck, it led me to this forum and now I am not paying out about $400 every week to payday loan companies. I will add an extra prayer for you too.

I am praying about it Sue. That's why I think I got the call from the temp agency yesterday. I should hear more back on that today. On another note, it sounds like my husband my get transferred closer to home. That would be great because he has a veryyyyyyyyyy long commute and works some crazy hours. I have a few resumes to send out today too. There looks to be some good job openings in the local paper. Debtcruncher, it's alright now because I took a flea bath yesterday.
