Hello, it's just me. So, Monday it seems I'm back in the office. I'm going to work this job until I find something else. It's no use throwing in the towel yet but I do not want to make this commute in the winter. The temp job fell through because they filled it internally. Just my luck  I did have an interview Friday afternoon with an insurance agency that lasted three hours. I think he was ready to offer me the job but he had a couple of other interviews next week. There is no benefits with the job to begin with. I don't mind the health/dental/vision because I am covered through my husband. But no 401(k) plan really bothers me.

There is still a possibilty of getting the shipping/receiving coordinator position. I hope to hear something on that next week. I have a third interview next Friday for the office manager position. I think it's down to two of us from what she told me yesterday. This morning I did a phone interview for a different office manager position with a construction company. I am also going to interview for that next Friday. I'm off next Friday from my "regular" job since it's Good Friday. I might as well take advantage of it.

Hubby got called into work today so that spoiled our plans. I hope he gets transferred soon. It gets old real fast. So, I spent the day at my mom's watching movies. I also got tickets to see the Goo Goo Dolls at the end of June in Michigan. I told hubby to take that day off. We're going to make his son watch the animals while we are gone. He owes us anyway LOL!

I just revamped my resume and am sending it out to a few places today. I have to find a new job! I am also looking at what I need to get my bachelor's degree. I think I only need one or two classes and then I can graduate. I have to get out of this place that I am in! But right now it is a job, so I can look and apply and take my time until I find a good fit.

Good luck on your job search, Irish :-) Well, I had an interesting morning. So, I got to my job as planned. On break, I checked my cell phone messages. Well, the long term employment assignment that I wanted came through today. I called the employment agency back and they want me to start next Monday. The money is only a $1 less an hour than I was making with this other job. The commute is a lot shorter and it's only twenty minutes from home. So, I talked to my boss about it when I could. I told her I would work the rest of the week so I wouldn't leave them shorthanded but that I accepted the other job offer. She said that I didn't need to bother working the rest of the week. So, I grabbed my stuff and left. This is such a relief for me :-)

Goudah,

I think I will definitely like the other job better. I've worked in purchasing for years. Plus, I won't be in a cubicle all day which is a great thing for me. I will be coming out ahead without the cost of gas plus the wear and tear on my vehicle. I'll be home at a decent time every afternoon too since I'll be working first shift.

Good for you.. now my turn I am also in purchasing and have been for years.. I will start my search in about a month.. I am not going to go to South Carolina with my present company.. (I have a interview for a sales job this week) but I really like the purchasing side better then the sales..
But I at least have a little time to decide..

Congrats Mishele ~ With gas prices like they are, I know you will be glad to not have to drive as far. I can't wait for our new office to be built so I won't have as far to drive. I am only about 20 miles from my job, but a lot of times it can take almost 1 hour to get to work in the mornings and it can take 30 to 45 minutes to get home. Hate the communte!
