I actually almost used them to help me out of PDL help as a last resort but I think its odd how they do things...They want you to set up a seperate account, give them power of attorney, and they want you to fax in a statement showing that you are saving said money and then at the end of your 6, 9 or 12 months they settle your debt for you and tell you where to send MO too...Does that seem odd? Or am I just crazy?

That's why I never tell someone a specific company- just to check out who they choose. I believe Kyside had some really good info on Lanhorne, anlo there are azillion posts about them. I think there was a lawsuit filed. I know some people here have used them- but, if I am not mistaken, there was a big blow-up about them and the person posting here from them-could be wrong, I'm old and have old-timers disease :lol: Karen

I heard sometime back that a court case was fixed against this company in the month of February. Any news on that?
I have often read negative comments on this company although they claimed that they are improving their business for consumers' benefits. Not sure if I should put my trust and money on them!!!

I am considering using them as well but am just trying to make sure that after I set this money aside that I will acutally pay of the loans because they are taking out there fee until the 6 months is over so they will get there money regardless and I just don't want to get scammed again.

I am afraid that by giving them power of attorney that if they do take the money from you and the loans dont get paid you cannot do a thing about it...I dont know whY i need to give them Power of Attorney....They say so they can file complaints to the AG on our behalf bugt I can file my own complaints.
Also did you know the Lawyer who owns the place wrote the contracts for these PDL's???

Karen, the guy from their company who earlier used to post here doesn't post anymore. His silence doesn't clear up the confusions especially when there are negative comments on them. Go figure!!

I am a member. My user name is brewerj. I'm having trouble logging on. If you have questions regarding Langhorne,please call them. I am a client of their's and they have handled all of my pdl's with awesome results. They do not have access to my savings account. I save the agreed upon amount based on what I have already paid the pdl's. They have no access to my savings. Upon completion of the program (mine happened to be 6 months)if all of the pdl's have not agreed upon a settlement, Langhorne KEEPS NEGOTIATING FOR YOU and you owe Langhorne no additional money. YOu pay them for the amount agreed upon in your contract. If they fail to settle in the agreed upon time, they keep working! Period! You pay nothing else. I know! I am a client. They do exactly as they say they are going to. I finished paying Langhorne in March. All of my pdls are not settled. I have proof that they are still working for me at no additional cost to me. I urge anyone in the pdl trap to call and give them a chance. Don't base your opinion on rumor alone. Actions speak louder than words... Langhorne gave me my life back and I will forever be grateful!!!!!!!!!!!

Allright,
I am very gratful for the comments. I usually do not specify a company for a poster because of reasons like this. I just did a quick search on them on Pacer. I will have to do a more through one now to see exactly what is going on.

When I spoke to them they said I needed to set aside the monthly payment in a savings account and they would only debit their fees. They would do this until the six month term was over and then I would send the remaining funds to the lenders based on the sttlement they reached with the companies. Theat is why I am a little nervous becuase they could just remove the money out of my savings account and never settle with any of the PDLs.

It's brewerj again Still can't seem to log on. I want to clarify that if you have questions about langhorne- call them or speak to their clients! what is this "search" you are talking about. I don't mean to sound dumb but what is "pacer" and how do you know it's going to give you the truth? I have nothing to gain here............. I just want everyone to know Langhorne worked for me. No gimmick.... nothing but peace of mind!! I'm free of harsassing calls, etc. I've been a client since October if you are wondering. I've been treated with nothing but professionalism and respect. Please make no judgements....... call and speak with them yourself. Speak with people who have PROVEN results!!!!!
I couldn't negotiate on my own. I was in pdl hell and completely broken. That's where Langhorne stepped in. No, there service is't free.... but it was worth it in my situation.

I am just curious as to how they didn't have access the your savings account to debit their fees out of like they told me they would need to do for me. They also told me that after the 6 months if a complete settlement hadn't been worked out with the lenders that I would have to pay a fee of $29.95 per month until things were settled but you are saying they didn't charge you anything after your six months.

arice1us,
you can open your own savings account that they do not have access to!!!!!!!! I'm a client and I did. All you have to do is send them a balance once a month to prove you are saving the settlement amount. I have successfully completed their program!! They NEVER had access to my savings account. It was in my name alone!!!!!! I personally paid the settlements. Again, all I did was send them a balance proving that I was upholding my end of the bargain. (brewerj-still can't log in)

They debited my checking account for their monthly fees which I could revoke at any time with my bank. My savings was a different account. I'll let you know about the $29.95. I was under the impression that would occur only if I failed to save the agreed upon amount and couldn't pay the settlement by the end of my contract period-which in my case was 12 months. I will call them and post as soon as I have an answer.... Stay tuned.........

Thanks. They acutally advised me to close my checking account and re-open a new one with my bank so that the payday lenders couldn't take any money from me. I only signed up for the six months so I was hoping that everything would be resolved by the time so that I wouldn't incur any additional fees. The one thing I did liek about the program was that once they had the information they neede to include the first fee and POA then I would not have to pay anymore money to the payday lenders until the end of the six months when the debt settlements where reached. They would definitely help my pocket book.

Actually, the $29.95 per month charge only applies to clients who opted for longer-term programs. The charge offsets the administrative costs of monitoring client savings over that period.
This is a separate charge from the 'setup fee' that all clients are assessed, regardless of plan length.
If the client opts for a shorter plan - AND adheres to it - that individual is not required pay the additional monthly fee, even if it takes longer than six months to settle all of their loan accounts.

You wouldn't incur any more fees from langhorne. They only charge the 29.95 per month administration fee if YOU decide to prolong your program because you can't save enough in the time frame of the contract. i just spoke to them and confirmed this.

Langhorne Debt Solutions
I am only a couple of weeks into Langhorne's program but things are going well. I have one PIF so far and my phone calls from collectors have been limited. Will provide more info as I go. Looks good so far and the best thing is my paychecks are not all gone before I get them. I feel like there is an end to all this payday loan debt. I felt I needed LDS help because I had so many PDLs. I think we a fewer number of loans an individual could handle this on their ownw with the help from this forum. Good luck to everyone!!!

When I first came here back in November I contacted Langhorne. They told me that they did not help with pdls when I told them that Nationwide Cash owed me money. Cajun - these people play both sides of the street and I woudn't trust them at all. They have a conection with at least one - Nationwide - or more pdls.

Leah,
Not only do they tell their customers that yes, they wrote the contracts for the pdl's but they are very clear on their website about it as well. That info has never been a secret. As a client, I know that LDS knows the contracts inside and out and that's why they have been so successful in helping me.
Dennis Williams is helping people! I had 13 Pdls' at one time. I now have ZERO!!!!!

IF you look at Mr. Williams post when he announced his switch from working for the PDL industry to working for the consumer, he stated this fact and also stated that because of this he felt he was in a better position than your "average" consolidator or counselor to deal with these people.
I commend Mr. Williams for the change of heart he had, and I do believe his intentions and efforts are true and honest. For any one to leave a practice that was obviously producing a stable income, and go into a different practice in which income may not be as stable and would certainly burn bridges with past clients , for the purpose of helping "the common man" deserve a fair chance to succeed. Once thing about public records its they tend to take a while to update (like the next time a license i renewed, or other communication is initiated) it may very well take a while to update.
I believe Mr. Williams stated in his announcement post that he waited until his contacts with all his past client had expired. I believe the last one was Nationwide and that was in Sept. of last year. Most likely unless Mr. Williams initiates communication, that information in the public record will remain until Nationwide is required to renew their license or bond.

All I know is that before I hired Langhorne I was going out of my mind with pdls. I had 6 of them - Cashnet500, Worldwide 500 Fast Cash, Payday OK, cashnetusa, Emerald and B&L. My whole paycheck was gone every time. After four months half my loans are settled and I rarely get calls or emailds from the others. I don't care who Williams is friends with or not and I havent seen any "research" by the so-called experts on the board that tells me I should care. All I know is that when no one else could help me Langhorne got me out of bigtime jam/.

And you should care who they are friends with, pretty stupid not to care who the buddies of the person you are paying your money to is friends with. Not a wise consumer. I wonder, how quick you would've been turned down if you had a defaulted pdl with Nationwide? I'm telling you, you would've been sent away. Wonder why.

You try calling nationwide. When it prompts you for an extension:
1) dial 112 (ms kinnard's "old" voicemail);
2) say something at the prompt to get through;
3) system will transfer you to voicemail;
4) press *8 to transfer out of voicemail;
5) press 236# (who's greeting ?????????????)
6) press *8 again before it lets you record a msg
7) press *2 to use dial-by-name directory
8) press 9# (who's the first name on the list???)
langhorne debt
i had them for about 4 months,nothing was settled.
i had usfastcash and amerlioan. i wanted these done
first seeing as though i should be pif on both.plus
usfastcash almost cost me my job in april.they said they can do nothing and i should complain to my AG.
what did i pay them for?good question, but they gave
me unknowingly there kansas address. so it's not for
everyone,but i do believe they are in bed with certain
pdls.
