What can you tell me about them. They tell me that they are not a collection company but a group of attorneys.

No they are not attorneys. None of them are attorneys. Not even the supervisors. They are just one of the many shady collection companies that ICollect (on behalf of the IPDLs) does business with.

Some people on here have speculated that United is a dba for Bass and Associates, but that is not true. All of Bass' d/b/a's have names that end in "and Associates," such as Phillip Jackson and Associates and Mark Watson and Associates. Bass does this to give off the impression that it is a law firm; however, none of their d/b/a's are law firms.

In fact, David Jacobs, who is the head of Bass and claims to be an attorney, is not even an attorney. He is personally under investigation by a plethora of governmental agencies including the Florida Attorney General's Office, the Federal Trade Commission, the Jacksonville County District Attorney's Office, and the Florida State Bar (the Bar is investigating him for practicing law without a license). I have a very close friend who worked with Mr. Jacobs on the business side of things, but has since left the company because of Mr. Jacobs' conduct and the investigations. United is run by Lisa Waters. She is also under investigation by the Florida Bar for practicing law without a license. She will most likely be investigated by the other agencies too once the complaints start coming in.

Simply stated, do not do business with United Processing, Bass and Associates, or any of Bass' d/b/as. None of these companies are certified by ACA and related organizations, and they are not recognized by any of the three major credit-reporting bureaus either.

Thanks for that info! Basshole and Associates have been calling me and I refuse to send them any money since they cannot tell me who they are collecting on behalf of other than to say ICOLLECT, which is just another agency that uses them. I do not have an account with ICOLLECT so until they provide me with the real creditor they can kiss my bum!

It wouldn't matter if they were a "group of attorneys", under the law attorneys who collect collection agencies. But, the law firm dosen't have to be licensed as a CA.

I recived my first phone call from them telling me that they would be pressing legal charges against me in my state at 1:30pm today. The number that they gave you was it 904-723-3175 I never heard of them my self and went to do a search about them online and can't find anything. please let me know if you come up with anything and i will let you know.

My name is Jason from United Processing, Inc., in Chicago, IL. We are a Detective Agency that receives calls from distraught people concerning there loans and the abuse received from these people everyday. They are extremely rude, unprofessional and should be shut down for there tactics in collections. They clearly are in violation of all the fair debt collection act!
A person called the other day and gave me a phone number of (321) 422-5133. I spoke with a person by the name of Ron Collins and Kevin Peters. When I find out more I will post more.

Thats too bad that your company has the same name as those jerks. But I guess you are in the right field of business to check it out ;) But united processing (from FL) also goes by the name of united pay services. They really suck to deal with. When you ask for something in writing they then say they cannot do that until you pay in full or they will say, Oh you want to go that way , well then we will have someone there within the hour to arrest you for internet fraud and worthless check. So go get'em Jason lol. But good luck in finding them.

Oh!!!!! Trust me United Processing is famous for breaking the fdcpa law. They call you at all times and use sleazy tactics to instill fear amongst the consumers. As puddlejmpr said they don????????t want to provide the validation of claimed balances, they call your neighbors, relatives and even employers and openly discuss about your debt. These tactics simply cross the line of fair play.

i recieved a call on monday from these people and was told that my debt was being turned over to my counties states attornies office by three pm unless i monies gram'd them the money owed. i dont owe that much they i guess 200, but i asked for a statement to prove my debt and they refused, however they did give me my debt company and i called them the debt is a few years old, but was an over look on my part. this company said they would send me a statement and in return for that i would send them payment in full. they were very polite. not like united proccessing.

well they were suppose to call them and let them know of thearrangement and that was to that until 19 am today united prossessing has called me to notify me that this has been forwarded to my county and and will be under arrest by 11:30 my time because i did not money gram them. they also told me they were attornies which i find out is not the case.
i am a single parent and i work from home, i have a state issued liscense to run a daycare. they told me my liscense was going to be revoked and flaged for dis honesty as a person who dosent pay there bills. keep in mind i had overlooked this bill it was about the time that my husband and i were getting divoreced and i was having a hard enough time. anyway they told me i was going to jail, losing, my job, and going to end up in the trailer park under public aid because i would have no way in which to take care of my family. i know for a fact that they can not speak to you, raise there voice, belittle you etc, but this lady had no care about what she had said to me.

this is not the only time i have been attacked another comany out of dallas several years ago did this to me over a debt my ex had. they threated me, my life , my childs, stole monies from me etc. this harrassment from that company is not as bad as that one , but is getting close. with the last company we had the police interviene with it has the death threats and abuse was to much for me not to mention after a while i did break down and send them money, certified payments, that they said they never got. what a crock, my bank says they cashed them. not to mention the monies they got from my banking account that they didnt even get permission to take from and that i didnt give info for. another reasin police were involved for my protection. all in all the last company took me for over 1500 dollars and the company it was owed to was never given a dime and the debt is still outstading with them even though this shady collection agency recieved from me. there name was burt and associates.

I received a call from them also, they did the same thing to me, they are people that do not speak English and appear to be very rude and use scare tactics. They sound to me as if they are Middle Eastern,and I would bet they are not illegally in this country. I spoke to all the same people, two men and a woman. So it appears to be three people who run this business and they would not give me an address either as I told them I would be willing to pay my debt but needed more information and wanted to write to them.
I have reported them to the FTC and also to the local Police Department in my area. United told me they were going to arrest me, that I was a criminal, etc..so my Local Police station told me that it sounds as if they are and Identity Theft group, because when they call they want to confirm your personal information. They scare you to a point where you do tell them who you are and then at that point you confirm your information that they have retrieved from you. Even if this is debt owed, your personal information is being put in the hands of these people. You can be a victim of identity theft. Let me ask people here, has anything happened to you yet? Have you gotten anything from these people? A summons, anything? I haven't so that is why I believe this is a scam...BEWARE and don't get frightened, just report them to the FTC and your local police department. It is not a crime to owe a debt, especially if you are willing to pay it.

they called my work 20 times yesterday, spoke with my boss whom they cussed at and another lady in the office. We told them not to call here and they kept hanging up and calling back. We called the police who told us to call the phone co. We did and the phone co called today and said they spoke to these "people" and they cussed out the phone operator! they called once today and said if I don't resolve this legal matter of fraud, I was going to jail. Heard that one already. I see my attorney (yes, a real one)this week and I will see about pressing charges or doing something. If I were at home calling people and harrassig them, I'd be arrested already, what gives?

I got a call from these people that I cannot understand, telling me that I am going to be arrested if I don't pay them $700 by noon. They told me that I would lose my job, my child, and never have anything again. I see that I am not the only one that this has happend to. Can you give me some in sight on how you took care of this.

Today I received a call from united processing from Kevin Pieterson saying i better money gram $820 for a loan that i owed or else i will be arrested this after noon.

Arrested for what & by whom? Consumer debt is not a criminally actionable offense,it is strictly civil. I would not bother dealing with a collector who makes threats like this.

have they ever had anyone arrested. they always say they will process you.
